The point is the same way some people are saying Kim is irrlevent would be like someone say those artist are irrelevent cause they didn't put out music in years. That's the point, nobody is saying Kim is better than them but in this genre of Hip Hop she's Legendary status so there is no timetable to put out music just like in RnB and Soul those artist don't have to drop music to stay relevent cause there status is established. Also Kim being Hot for a decade is to show the point of here status in the game. I know Nicki is a rookie but Kim's history is not irrelevent in this discussion cause we are talking about here status and impact in the game.
And Cham what happen when Nicki said "Roman's Revenge" wasn't about Kim and then turned around and said it was about her? LIE. What about when Nicki said she doesn't need to diss to get attention? LIE, what about when she said she talked to Foxy about Kim? LIE. Nicki been caught from lie after lie and you continue to give her pass as act like she's victim. Kim never made a diss record until after "RR" so Nicki brought this on herself. LOL @ Stretching the truth when you keep giving Nicki passes for lying.
blackrain;1666732 said:Those artists you talked about had fan bases that were willing to wait years between albums...you think if Lil Km put out an album today she'd have the same type of success or anything close to what she had in the 90's? She wouldn't, she failed with her last album and anything she's put out since...the fans of artist like Sade, Maxwell, etc. were waiting for music from artist that could validate them waiting that long..they created timeless/classic on multiple projects...very little of anything Lil Kim has done can be said to be timeless and could have fans still waiting for an album from her after an 8-10 year gap...only rapper that's been able to pull that shit off is Dr. Dre and even he's pushing the limits with hip-hop fans with it...and as far as Lil Kim being in the game for over a decade...it's people trying to bash Nicki Minaj that keep saying "Kim's been in the game for a decade? What has Nicki Minaj done"...that's why it makes no sense...
rapmastermind;1666857 said:"Naked Truth" went Gold worldwide, hardly a failure and it was Kim's 4th LP making her one of a few female rappers in history to release a 4th album. And Kim has not released an album yet in 5 years so it's still to be determined if it's going to sell like Sade and Maxwell did after an hiatus. "Download" charted just last year, so for her to have a mixtape song still chart shows she still has fan support. LOL @ Bashing Nicki as if dudes up here haven't been bashing Kim and trying to downplay her success and history. Someone in this very post tried to deny her success yet people are bashing Nicki? false.
Nicki is a new artist who just released her debut album. It remains to seen if she will even have a long career. Kim has had that so at the end of the day she has that over Nicki. My debate is a simple one. Kim is an OG, Nicki is a rookie. Kim has felt Nicki has been taking shots so she expressed that opinion. Nicki being a rookie should respect that and keep it moving. Instead she lies not having to diss people and also about not making a diss to Kim and uses the song to boost sales. Kim only gave interviews, she never made a full out diss. So at the end of the day, Nicki brought this on herself by making a diss song in the 1st place. Kim had every right to strike back.

but once nicki put that record out and said it was about kim. the whole argument about kim being a "hater" or "irrevelent" becomes pointless. because nicki just gave her credibiilty by acknowledging the song was about kim.
i feel if nicki had just ignored kim (like she had been doing), then she could kept saying kim was just hating or trying to get shine. and kept it moving. but once she put it on wax, she gave kim exactly what she wanted. which was a legitmate excuse to get at her on wax. (even you seem to agree with that)
and now it's become diss track vs diss track. all that other stuff shouldn't matter(how many records kim sold in the past or nicki is selling now or who's hotter or kims status(or lack of) as a legend, etc). if we're gonna keep it hip hop, it should be about who produce the better diss track(s).

You are dumb late with that. I brought that song up maaaddd pages ago. And how is that a diss to Kim anyway? If anything, she should've taken it as respect, as Nicki was glorifying her as the queen at the time. Or as a friendly competition, ESPECIALLY SINCE Kim's team and Nicki's teams were linking up around that time.rapmastermind;1666627 said:Also Cham explain:
"I'm comin from the crown Kim, That's my word"
But Nicki never had any subliminals or said anything wrong about Kim right?
LOL yeah aight.rapmastermind;1666581 said:When did I call Kim the GOAT?, that never happen. Kim is an Icon in Hip Hop from a female perspective, that's established, if you think otherwise your hating or in lying to yourself. There's nothing weird about acknowledging someone's success and accomplishements. Like I said, you wanna act like Nicki is a victim and it's clear she's not. The evidence is clear, if "Roman's Revenge" never happen, "Black Friday" would of never been made. Nicki brought this on herself by lying when she said she doesn't beef to get attention and then pumps up a diss record to sell records, pathetic.

KillaCham.;1667883 said:LOL @ "Download" being a mixtape song. That shit had a music video, was released digitally, and sent for radio adds.
"I Get Crazy" is a real mixtape song. No video, no promo, no adds date, no official released, a Top 40 on Billboard.
Wack post, crapmastermind.
Good post, Ozy.

Plus that song is years and years old. If that's the problem, how come Kim was all hugs, kisses, and smiles when Nicki asked if she had a problem with her last year? Why did she wait until 2010 to get mad?
Because Nicki blew up and she obviously felt jealous and threatened. And that's why she threw that big ol' pity-party about Nicki not paying homage until she found out she was WRONG. Then she switched it to "she was throwing subliminals at me". LOL Kim is not slick. You aren't either.
