Life is Good Vs. The Black album

not even close to me.

Life is good, with the extra four songs, is Nas at his most refined and matured. Drop off one or two tracks, you have a classic. One of his most replayable albums out of a stellar catalogue. Nas is GOAT - its that simple.

Black Album and Reasonabke Doubt are Jay's most overrated album. BP2 was the last album Jay showcased incredible rap skills. It's been downhill ever since. It's very noticeable in his flow on this album compared to the previous effort. Life Is Good is flames.

Life is Good is "flames"?

Thats how you describe that album?

Good album, but "flames"?

I personally would compare life is good to kingdom come. Their the "mature" albums of both artist. In that battle LIG wins for me n I don't hate KC like a lotta people. Black album is kinda set in stone for its impact n probably cemented jay into the idol he is now. That nigga had the whole hood wearing striped button ups n evisu jeans that year or something similar to emulate outfits in only 2 videos.

Yep, tied for best rap album of 2015. Just my opinion. I know a lot of people think Black Album is flames but I think it's just a good album.

Makes sense, but Life Is Good didn't come out in 2015.

Out of curiosity what other album do you have Life Is Good tied with?

I put some thought into it..

When the black album dropped, I was just a thirteen year old getting my feet wet in hip hop without the help of my older brotha for once, finding my own way in a sense.. knowing that this was suppose to be jay-z's final album at the time and I just started becoming a fan of him (before I even heard ether). It definitely made a HUGE impression on me being so young.

Life is Good, I could say the album name and truthfully say that life was good for me at the same time. When I heard loco-motive for the first time, It was like hearing an Illmatic bonus track or something. From that point on, it just flowed very well to me (well, Summer on smash was a bump in the road). I didn't expect anything from Nas. A very solid album.

I decided to compare these two because... Well, look how close the voting is (and I ain't even vote yet)

With that said. I have to go with Life is Good.. IF The Black album was actually jay-z's final album, I would've voted for it.

I meant 2012. Control System and GKMC

black album just has a classic feel to it. There's not a single weak track on it and lyrically Jay was back to his best. Singles were classic and the production was flawless. 99 problems, what more can i say, encore, dirt off your shoulder, PSA.. just too much greatness. That album stays in the memory.

I remember I road my bike in the rain to get Black Album and Beg For Mercy the day they both came out and I thought Beg For Mercy was better then and still do now. Shit Tupac Ressurection dropped that day too. Black Album was the third best rap album that dropped the day it dropped.
