Lets talk about how 2 pac had the whole NY scared to say his name......
This is my take on it ultimatley and I was around during that Era of rap too. I know NY niggas is mad at this thread and it's understandable because for somebody to say the whole NY is soft is making a mistake. What I feel like happen is perception made things look like reality.It's more like the guys that was in the rap game seem like they backed down when Pac was beggin for niggaz out there to make diss records and come do something when he went out there. While I dont feel like the City it's self is or ever was soft I feel like the rappers that repped it at the time (with the exception of Mobb Deep) handled it wrong and took high roads or whatever and these is suppose to be ex- stick up kids and dope dealling gun tooting felons turn rappers and crittically acclaim lyricist. Perception is not always reality but the rappers that got rippped on hit'em up and against all odds and bomb first had a hand in that perception for not manning right up. it's not like these niggaz is working 12 hour days at factory jobs, They go to studios and rap all day for money!!
