Change the thread title to "been a GOAT/been the GOAT of this decade" and I agree.

I think it was georgia boi who said awhile back that Ye was the most important rapper of the past ten years and I have to agree.

Ye has dropped at least 2 classics in 8 years and all of his albums have been at far above average.

Ye birthed all these new niggas: Drake, Wale, Lupe Fiasco, Big Sean, Cudi. Ye resurrected and kept the careers going for niggas like Jay, Common, Twista, and Pusha.

Ye set trends with auto tune and the sparse production style on 808's/electronic elements on Graduation and 808's have been adopted by countless producers.

He's one of the highest sellers and highly critically acclaimed.

And he's given countless rappers some of the best production of their careers.

And thing is? His career is far from finished.

If that aint enough of a resume for a GOAT/top 10 of all time, I don't know what is.

He's defintley the best hip hop artist of the past ten years. When you really step back an look at his catalouge and his impact on the genre and music as a whole i thin he's top ten all time. People have to let those old heads go. Krs-1 or BIg daddy kane, etc aren't better than kanye.

Kanye had a substantial impact on the game. That's the strength of the Kanye argument. He literally changed the game, everybody wanted to be conscious or rap on a Kanye beat after he got on.

Lyrically he fell off after 2 albums, but his creativity was unparalleled and its still going on. He doesn't have 2 albums that sound nearly alike.

He's not the GOAT but when it comes to impact he's top 5 easily. He deserves to be mentioned with greats but not as the greatest, that's too much right now.
