Tupac made it okay to express emotions in rap, before Pac no one really dug deep into their souls with their rapshit, they were to busy acting cool or hard or just partying

Get off our dicks you faggot ass cracker. You don't know shit about hip hop and the culture.

Anyway @ t/s Kanye's songs aren't really that corny/emotional. I think your gripe is with his image more than the music...But I definitely agree with you on making niggas think it was cool to be soft but that was moreso Drake

Rap has definitely been overtaken by corniness, though I don't know if the blame can be squarely placed in Kanye's lap. No one told these young cats to act the way they do. That's their choice. Kanye has his antics, but he was NEVER on the cornball shit that lames like Big Sean and Drake are -- not to mention Wiz and other suckers of the New School. As for the emotional rap, that's always existed, from De La to Blackalicious. Shit's just mainstream now, and the emo (homo, really) rap simply came to the surface of commercial rap and blended with the present cultural trends. That's where we are.

I kinda feel like Eminem brought that to the game. Stan was an emo record written from the perspective of an emotional fan and when he wasnt beefing with Pop stars he was getting overly emotional about his baby moms or his mother.

Yup, Em was definitely in that emo lane, which only takes us into a discussion of how white America has influenced much of the cornball shit we see.

OK, what's your point? To a soft nigga, drake and kanye are regular dudes...

I take it you just don't like the niggas...

Emotion is a part of good music, corniness tho... yea i def gotta say LL Cool J, Kanye, Em, Luda

Corniness is relative though... To some Andre 3000 is the coolest dude ever to others his mad gay and corny... So therefor Pac invented this introspective emotional shit, maybe he didn't take it to the extreme as some but you know he definitly was on some emotional shit back when rappers was all about being gangsta or partying or just kicking dope rhymes...

Maybe he didn't invent it but he made it okay for a rapper to be "hard" and show emotions all on the same album, ALSO seemingly you can't mention anyone who did emotional raps before him...
