Dude @yroholla stole my thunder EM is top 5 period lyrically I can honestly say I never heard a terrible verse from him. His subject matter is what he knows that sets him apart. He never tried to be something he not. Relaspe was a amazing Concept Album plus lyrically second to none.

you should really listen to that fack song lol

homie is nice, but the fact that u know em is so nice should make u disgusted with how wack that song is

Sad thing is, that song would pass if it came from a lesser MC, which tells you how great Em is.

Em skill wise matches up w/ the greats and the greats respect him as a top MC Jay,Busta,Nas,Dre etc

How many ppl ever make 3 classic albums?

I thought Relapse was cool and Recovery wasn't terrible.

I think Em makes timeless music and so do the millions of ppl who buy his old albums every milli second.

Some people can relate to his subject matter and behavior better than other people.

Emenim is a Juggalo without the face-paint, weirdo music laced with homoerotica for likeminded deviants.

consistency isnt about subject material though.

yeah nas switched up to the jewels and hate me now records, but all his albums have a dose of creativity.

a dose of heartfelt hood shit. a pro black perspective. some story telling as well as some of the usual rah rah braggadoccio shit.

yeah nas has 1 maybe 2 classics (alot of people like it was written and most hip hop fans i know own it)

nas and eminem both changed subject matter as they got older as it should be but on ems first and second albums he had his creative subject tracks. his singles (those don't count for harsh criticism) his stories and his straight spittin

but like wit nas when he did shit like rewind (a story track and a concept) em went on to do some retarded shit. its opinion but i couldnt fuck wit that sayin weird shit jus to say weird shit.

to me he really started fallin into that lazy mode which was more annoying because i've seen the concepts em was capable of.

i also didnt hold it against em for dressing weird or anything, just for being lazy with it.

its like em either got comfy or disinterested in the rap game

any nigga that is a fan of em knows the potential is there (even non fans have to admit the talent) but the nigga dead ass phoned it in and made aloooooooooot more filler tracks than gems.

like i said. busta rhymes

what you put in bold all makes me point. 1. Nas has always talked about those things...so that's consistent to who he is, or who we all know of him, and his subject matter as always been that way he's never change once he started talking about the jewels and everything else. he spits what he's been spitting...you saying all his albums have a dose of creativity? "one mic", "book of rhyme" and "rewind" i forgot the name of the joint but it's the joint he spit the story backwards...and i cant remember which album that was on..but 1. the albums those joints were on, werent classic, 2. had alot of forgetable tracks on there...and all the other ish..heartfelt hood shit, black perspective, storytelling...again is consistent to who he is and what he's always spit about (and love him as an artist for that) but that's what or why you and a his fans look for an a artist--and one thing i can say Nas doesnt do well if you wanna talk about versatility is..the down south flow/bone thugs in harmony flow and rhyme pattern that many a rapper has done...Nas attempts at those were ok not really that well....and there's one joint i think it was on godson, i liked...but it still it wasnt done that well.

em..stays consistent to who he is, and i will agree he's gotten lazy, alot of artist have done that i.e. busta rhymes..i stop buying an em album after the eminem show...but just like nas, and this is only an example, and nothing against nas and nor am i saying em is better..just using nas as an example..

u said nas drops creative ish...em did "3am"--which you might not be a fan of the joint because of the subject matter..but the rhyme scheme was creative, and there was a story telling in there. and it was in his "lazy era" as well. so that's two things you said nas is still able to do, that i highlighted that em still did.,

& you talked about nas with his heart felt ish, black perspective...again and i stop buying his(em's) albums..em still had heart felt ish...you may not have listened to them for whatever your reason were, or they felt out werent good anymore (and that's believable) and he was spitting ish from his life and his perspective again...u may not have listen to them for whatever your reasons were didnt like them..

"lighters", and "airplanes part II" all came from what he went throught and was in his "lazy era"

like i said before...it's all becomes subjective when u strip it all done.

and bootybutta or whatever you name is..that's about all the attention you're gonna get from me, a sentence!

*Facepalm*... But then again i can see how you could've missed what I meant. I didn't mean he sounds like a psycho path in the song, no shit! I mean it sounds like a pyscho path wrote the song (and that's not a compliment). I don't know what type of standard you must have to say that Eminem was clever for screaming on the track. My dude, that is not clever. And I've watched plenty of good horror films but there is a difference between watching a horror film that frightens you, makes you think, or sends chills down your spine and listening to a horror styled song that just makes your ears bleed. This is music, is it not? So it's only right we would be speaking musically.

To me "Letter to my son" sounds far better as a song from a rapper getting his aggression and frustration out about a girlfriend/ex wife. "KIM" almost sounds like complete noise. [/quote]

again we are talking from a standpoint that music is all subjective....what one person thinks is art, doesnt mean the next person will. Nor does it mean it's still not art. "letter to my son" is a great fucking song, but just because you think is explains aggression, and frustrations better doesnt mean "KiM' was any different or wasnt a good song.

nor does it mean "KIM" wasnt a clever song either. I got the point of "KIM" and why it was done the way he was done..i can google an article on "KIM" and the author could break down why it was a great song..again cause you didnt feel it or felt some other song more...doesnt mean "KIM" wasnt a good song.

what Em said or does...isnt for everyone, nor does he try to make anyone like his ish..either you do or you dont. Simple as that...but doesnt mean ppl who like his ish, dont know music.

it's all a matter of opinions. and what you choose to listen to.

and look deep into other genre of music...writers, musicians...they are plenty of them that arent normal...doesnt mean they arent musical geniuses

R.Kelly is a pedophile, but he is a fucking genius when it comes to RnB music.

Relapse was a terrible album...Hov, Big, Pac, and Nas are the only rappers I would put over Eminem...Ice Cube maybe, but I think Eminem could out rap Cube.

Yeah as I have been getting older and older I have finally understood the people who I use to hear all the type so that his music has no replay quality. I mean with the exception of songs like "Lose Yourself" and "Stan" once in a while you realize as time goes on that it really is true.

This guy plays around way too damn much in his music and the whole "He's just having fun" needs to stop because guys like Redman can do similar things without going too overboard.

I'm curious about what he is going to do on his next solo record, he is going to be 40 years old so hopefully he grows up and stops with this type of material.

We all know Wayne and Em did a few tracks together. One of those track was on recovery. But, on Em's track 'won't back down', which is on Recovery, he says this...

"does bird churp. Lil Wayne slurps syrup till he burps. And smokes purp, does a word search. Gets circles wrapped around him, like you do when i come through"

This a diss?

You people are ignorant. Eminem is clearly a top 10 rapper. You say he has no classic songs what about Lose Yourself, Guilty conscience, The real slim shady, the way i am, Stan, Renegades. Get real and learn what rap really is.

Eminem has literally sold more albums in the last 10 years (80 million) than anyother musician.

Vanilla Ice sold 10 million copies of his debut album.....

This modern-day Elvis clone with his "Puke" songs and gay-guy image is a disgrace to HipHop.

Femenim is a disgrace to white emcees like Serch, Brother Ali, Evidence & Bro Paul Wall who actually respect the culture and refuse to bring filth and perversion into it.

Could it be because he does a lot of rambling without saying anything. His music is corny and meaningless and he has had NO impact on Hip-Hop whatsoever?
