Doggy, Nas 5 best albums are better than any albums Eminem have ever made. Eminem doesn't have any classics. Those shits have no replay value.

Co-sign that.

Matter of fact you gonna see Illmatic or Stillmatic on most peoples classic lists.

"Untitled" was a cultural gem dedicated to our people and "HipHop is Dead" was a critique of HipHop culture.

Nas is the embodiment of true HipHop, his music reflects the essence of the culture before it became commercialized and bastardized by outsiders.

I never understood the appeal of that damn KIM song. The verses, while do tell a story, sound over the top with his whaling and yelling. Then theres that unorthodox whining chorus. It don't even sound like hip-hop, it sounds like a psycho path on drugs trying to make some screaming hardcore rock song.

this is why some of you, if you dont know, you shouldnt comment. the song..was suppose to come across as its' a psycho path...again, music doesnt have to follow a certain construct for it to be considered or not considered a certain genre..

he's rhyming, he thought of a clever way to get across the point of the song by not rhyming in a regular voice, but to scream it, hence why the track sounds the way it sounds. To show the song was suppose to be looked at as someone whose gone crazy..i guess you never watched a scary movie when the villian is a psycho path...

are katz really that ignorant to not understand certain other forms of hip hop??

To be creative you dont have to follow any "status quo" art is art

*Facepalm*... But then again i can see how you could've missed what I meant. I didn't mean he sounds like a psycho path in the song, no shit! I mean it sounds like a pyscho path wrote the song (and that's not a compliment). I don't know what type of standard you must have to say that Eminem was clever for screaming on the track. My dude, that is not clever. And I've watched plenty of good horror films but there is a difference between watching a horror film that frightens you, makes you think, or sends chills down your spine and listening to a horror styled song that just makes your ears bleed. This is music, is it not? So it's only right we would be speaking musically.

To me "Letter to my son" sounds far better as a song from a rapper getting his aggression and frustration out about a girlfriend/ex wife. "KIM" almost sounds like complete noise.

This is coming from a fan of Young Money BTW

Coming from a fan of hip hop music and music in general.

It doesn't matter. If you listen to it now it's a 4.5 mic album and better than anything Em dropped. It has like 1 bad song.

Just like yall try to rewrite history and call Reasonable Doubt a classic when no one was checking for it when it came out? Critics also panned It Was Written, they were just aggy Nas wasn't giving them another Illmatic.

Now if you wanna argue, name one Eminem album you think is better than I Am... and I'll tell you why it isn't.

I mean if we're being honest I'd rather listen to Street's Disciple or Nastradamus than any Em album as well. But I'm not gonna argue that they're "better". Majority of Nas albums are CLEARLY better than anything Em has put out musically, lyrically, content wise, just all around.

I am, my nigga? LMAO, are you serious? Relapse.

Only bad song is Dr. Knockboot (Eminem has waaaaay worse songs). The rest is classic. We can go track for track.

Small World?? Favor for a Favor??

Fuckin flames.

Relapse better than I am???

Wait, you want me to argue I Am... vs. Relapse?

Ok, I'll entertain that. We talking about Eminem's comeback album that he himself admitted was trash on his hit song "Not Afraid"... His return to his homoerotic roots with vile subject matter. He made his grand return with "We Made You", his parody single that was super bland and uninspired compared to his other celebrity diss tracks like "The Real Slim Shady" and "Without Me"..

Marshall came back with God know's what accent and on the intro song "3am" raps about getting mouth raped by his stepfather and things of that nature. The 38 year old Shady follows this with the tribute to Debbie, "My Mom", how wonderful. We don't get too long without hearing a vicious verbal assault on the lyrical wordsmith Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon. Fastforward 16 forgettable tracks over underwhelming Dr. Dre beats and finally we get a slew of good personal songs in Deja Vu, the melodic Beautiful, and the club dud Crack a Bottle with Dre and Fif.

The last song "Underground" is probably the best track on the album where he raps in a clear crisp voice although the content is disturbing, I won't front. He's spazzing and the shit he spits is witty. We giving the album a 2.5 out of 5. An upgrade from his prior album but not Eminem at his best.

As for I Am..., the first song is NY State of Mind Pt. II.. You would think Nas is wildn to try to touch the classic Premo laced first song from the Holy Grail of hip hop but he keeps it fresh with a new style and a vivid tale of a group of kids growing up in the hood and how things change over the years. This followed by the smash club record Hate Me Now that make you wanna pop bottles and knock someone the fuck out.. some amp ass shit with potent lyrics. Shit that anyone into fly shit can relate to pretty much.

You got "We Will Survive", one of the first songs reminiscing over our fallen hip hop soldiers over a smooth production providing words of encouragement to uplift our community. You got the epic "Undying Love", the political commentary "I Want to Talk to You", and one of the greatest rap songs of all time in "Nas is Like". The album is very well-balanced with a variety of topics yet it maintains cohesiveness and flow. You have unforced yet fresh club hits with Aaliyah and Puff with high profile and more commercial production spots but there is a lot of messages and stories on the album listeners can benefit from. The only gripe I might understand is Dr. Knockboot and Big Things but outside of that you have 14 fire ass tracks. Easily a 4.5/5 mic album and shits on anything Eminem has ever made.

SSLP is my favourite...MMLP is a near classic...TES was a lil borin'...And can we get off this relatable topic...its fuckin' nonsense...Him bein' alive is relatable enough...If you can't enjoy Eminem 'relate' to him, how many movies, cartoons, paintings, poems and books would that render unenjoyable...

In fact...You not bein' able to relate to him should be more of a reason to like him

IDK who think u talking too U got me confused with being a Jigga fan...........facts remains fans and critics were feeling It was Written or I Am....

MMLP>>>>>>I Am commerically, critically did better than I am and of course there werent having any congressional hearings or the President wasnt talking bout no Nas Albums they were doing it over Em's MMLP.

This is really a situation where Eminem's "shock raps" define who he is to people who dont really like dudes music....which makes sense cause at the end of the day, Eminem wants to sell...what better way to sell than to do his version of "shock rap"....the trade off is that people who consider themselves "real hip hop heads" wont fully respect it even tho he still hit you with some Gems to remind you he really can spit.....with that said, talent wise he is top 5 ever....dont matter if u dig his type of music or not....as a technical MC and his ability to diversify his flow is second to none

Dude @yroholla stole my thunder EM is top 5 period lyrically I can honestly say I never heard a terrible verse from him. His subject matter is what he knows that sets him apart. He never tried to be something he not. Relaspe was a amazing Concept Album plus lyrically second to none.
