But after reading peoples comments and thinking about it this is actually a very cool (albeit random) question that has been posed.

Nothing wrong with comparing two artists with completely different styles, i mean its still music after all.

Lauryn Hill got him on quality of album.

Nate got her on just overall quality...cant really put Lauryn above him in my opinion as she just doesnt have enough material.

Tho if you ask me who technically greater then it would have to be Lauryn, her lyrical ability is up there with the best male or female, and as a female rapper she didnt have to rap about her pussy or flash her booty or nothing, she was all about the skills.

But from what i remember it was mostly Bob Dylan style folk music not "hip hop" either.

Im gonna ride to it this weekend and get back familuar with it now that u reminded me of it tho.

The content was great. A lot of the songs sounded unfinished but she has a great mind for social commentary and song structure.

There just aren't many artists with 2 diamond albums that have influence on culture. Even her "wack" material was heavy.
