Nope. Even in the bigger cities like Seoul and Busan it's common. It's mostly from old people though. The younger generation are friendlier.

I can't remember anything overt ever happening to me...it's always super subtle slick shit that only I catch lol.

Most recently happened when I was at the donut shop one morning...I started working graveyards a couple months ago so when I get off work all the spots like that are just opening. there's this old white bitch that goes in there for coffee every morning and sits down to read the paper. I go in one day and I'm standing in line and I'm literally the first customer...old white bitch walks in after me and maybe she was feeling some kinda way cuz she wasn't first like she usually is or whatever but she gave me this weird look and was like "you're up early, girl." I looked at that bitch like gucci on the breakfast club.

It's trippy being in those situations cuz you can't fly off the handle. No one is gonna believe you on racism without it being clear and in your face...and then on the other hand the shit'll be so slick it'll have you questioning yourself like "am I looking too much into this?"

- White chick that I work w/ would always make these little racist statements as if she was joking. Had to check her.

- I had a number of overtly racist encounters when I was in college. I had the misfortune of having two unapologetically racist roommates. One was this big ass, redneck from Eastern Kentucky who admitted that nigger was just a term that they used where he was from. I almost got into a couple of fights w/ dude. Then there was an incident where this old white man stopped his car in the middle of the street, just to yell out and call me and my homeboy niggers. Shit was mad random. Then there was the incident when I was going through admissions and the cac bitch at the window automatically assumed I was at the school on a sports scholarship. Another time, I had all 4 of my tires flattened by some racist cacs in my dorm.

Many years ago I was working at this floor tile distribution place. My supervisor ended up injuring his shoulder, so he was inactive for the remaining of the year. Corporate office sent an insider aka an informant aka a snitch to help to the branch until they hire some help. Our dress code were some hot ass Polo shirts with the company's label on them. Around June of that year, it probably was thee hottest temperature of all time. So my coworker & I started wearing blank T-shirts, so we can adjust to the 100 degree temperature. I'm the only Africa American that works there while everyone else were white. You know us as niggas get hot easily in the summer time. Anyway, I am working & my manager asked me "when you get some time then come see me because the walls have ears". I was looking confused yet mad like "tf is he talking about" *shrugs*. So I go see what my manager is talking about & he said "Adam (the VP) called me & said to stop dressing like a gangster". I'm trying to register what I just heard because the remark hit me, unexpectedly.

The snitch ended up, calling the VP about me. After that little meeting; all I seen was red, so I told the manager that I'm out for the day because I was ready to put hands on the snitch dude. Til this day, I smh my biggest mistake was not recording & documenting the meeting for a possible lawsuit. So basically, it probably would've been his (VP) word against mines & I'm pretty sure the manager would've took his side, so he can keep his job. About a month later after the incident; I left the job.

Co-worker started defending the situation and almost got us locked up. Only thing we did was stand outside and talk. 3 cop cars pulled up, lights in our faces. Happened about 3 months ago.

Back in 2010 was driving up 75 to see my girl in Kennesaw and some white folks in a truck started tailing me so I sped up.

Eventually further down they caught up and 2 white dudes where hanging out the window yelling and looking crazy... My music was loud so I couldn't discern their words but im pretty sure nigger was in there.

Other times, its mostly police. Like getting surrounded at an orientation in the parking lot because I was there 10 minutes early, or getting surrounded outside of a friends GaTech Frat house when I locked my keys in my car, pigs had guns drawn and all that... And both times after a cop came up and apologized for the racist situation and explained it was typical.

In a meeting the manager be stressed out with deadlines and shit I get but when explaining and demonstrating they try to direct me on some shit not knowing I'm 5-10 steps ahead but llz how they said it was kinda like what, I play it off, but I give a slight pause or keep my play in motion silently...they apologize immediately afterwards for how they come across..the unsaid is what my mans was taking about above. Any situation where you get called boy or girl and know they don't jus mean some boy or some girl that's what I mean by tonal and behavioral.

I dtd a whtgrl once and was heading to a party (a get together with one of her friends off campus) when I was in college. Holding hands we pass groups of people and this is prime springtime at the school. A rando screamed out 'white supremacy' while we were walking. She was like 'let's keep walking' I think she denied hearing it but recall. I was pretty tight about the situation. Only thing popped in my head was:

The girl and I broke up later that summer and I graduated on time without further incident
