If I were Toronto and for the sake of the league I would not do that trade.

This might be the best they can hope for, or they will lose him for nothing this summer.

No what Toronto should do is keep Bosh and if he wants to leave in the off season then do a sign and trade.

It would make the Lakers even weaker defensively in the front court than they already are. It would also mean Ballhog Bryant would have to take less shots to keep everyone happy. We already hear Gasol crying about wanting more shots. The Lakers would however be an unstoppable offensive team if they gel. They would just try and run the score board up on inferior offensive teams and pray to God they never run into a good defense.

This rumor makes little sense to me in the short term because Bynum is base year player . To get Bosh at the trade deadline the Lakers would need to send Bynum, Morrison and Farmar — that is a lot of talent to suddenly be missing mid season. Then you have to teach Bosh the triangle offense and see if he can play with Kobe and Gasol — Bosh is a budding superstar, do you think he wants to be option number three?.

And then there is the money issue, the Lakers are already at the top end of what Buss wants to pay. Bosh is a free agent this summer and will get a max deal. Do you think the Lakers can really add that on to Kobe (who will get extended this summer), the new Gasol deal, Odom, Artest, Walton and so on?

That'd be nice but Bosh will be unrestricted. A sign and trade only happens if he is willing to do it. If not, he splits

But he can get more money in a sign and trade though.

Bosh >>>>> Bynum

But how much does Bynum make?

If the Raps could get Bynum and save a couple mill a year, it might not be a bad move.

That would be the whole point of the trade...you get bynum and you'd get him for a few years...and you'd save money cuz you wouldn't have to give him the money Bosh is askin for. They save money and have a better chance of attracting a better talent for the 2010 offseason circus. Makes a ton of since for the Raps..doesn't make any for the lakers. We basically lose our future franchise player and are stuck with someone in a contract year who I'm assuming loses his bird rights since he ain't played for the lakers 3 years. Already well over the cap and losing bynum wouldn't bring us under enough to even resign bosh. Fuck this trade.
