Wen i think of @Vibe i can only think of him wearing a black leather jacket, baggy jeans, bent brimmed cap, Timbaland boots, baggy ralph lauren polo t shirt

Nothing but Cannibus, Slaughterhouse, Nas, Jay Z, Busta Rhymes, Tech 9 in his I-Pod

Smokes nothing but cigarettes

Receding widows peak hairline

Messy facial hair

Please, don't think of me at all.

And personally, I feel this instance has less to do with the white factor and more to do with the gay factor. It was obvious an agenda was being pushed last night.

Nah, b. Most of my queer friends/queers I associate with don't like Macklemore or his "ode to the gays" song.

They were all rooting for Kendrick.

So this definitely has more to do with the corporate white washing of hip hop culture than with any gay agenda, imo.

I bet @chicity would give Taylor a pass though.

Ain't nobody that's put in work about to return an award.

Ooooh @Kat, u wanna be T Dot Sway sooooo bad

Macklemore winning best rap album is like T Dot winning best Reggae album

Right is Right and apparently White is still Right when it comes to the Grammy's

Yes, I want to be a blonde 2x4 with no rhythm..you got me.

Like I said, YOU nor anybody else would have denied that award. It was his first Grammys and he's been chasing this dream just like Kendrick has...
while I don't disagree with you, it's not HIS fault.

600

damn... I actually agree with Loca on something.

You can't deny that there's is a connection with a gay agenda there, but overall Macklemore's grammy had more to do with whitening and softening hip hop.

What the people want is not always in line with the agenda Hollywood is trying to push...if that were the case, Kendrick would have won.

Gay marriage/rights is HUGE right now..you see no correlation?

I'm just saying.

I get what you're saying, but I don't think that's what's really going on at the heart of it.

What I think is going on is that queer people are being used to scape goat a decision based on racism and cultural appropriation. There are other non-white rappers who have discussed their queer identity quite openly, yet they won't be nominated for anything anytime soon because of the color of their skin. If this were simply a case of trying to push the "gay agenda", Angel Haze, Zebra Katz, Big Freedia, and Mykki Blanco would have been nominated and serious contenders in the rap category, but they aren't. So it's an issue of race.

And Macklemore's lyrics aren't only race appropriation, they are also queer appropriation as well.
