It's probably not the best idea to sign to any artist's label because it only caters to the artist that owns it. These labels (imprints really) are like mini-major record labels and they're modeled after them i.e. Universal, Interscope, Warner, Sony, etc. At the end of the day, artist/owners are going to do what they want to do. See Jay when he was Pres over at Def Jam. He could've have pushed Joe Budden, LL Cool J, Red and Meth, etc. but instead he pushed his own signees Rick Ross, Jeezy, Rhianna, and Ne-Yo.

But if you sign anything to G-Unit, Bad Boy, or Rocafella you's a dumbass. Rocafella is a dessert now anyway. Shady/Aftermath wouldn't push you if your name was Jesus Christ. Em and Dre barely get off they ass for their own projects.

It seems like NONE of these "vanity" imprints besides G.O.O.D music is worth a damn anyways when it comes to getting the artists music out. I mean besides Drake and Nikki Manaj, who the HELL is REALISTICALLY gonna get any kind of solo push outta young money? Where's Killa Mike, Bobby Ray, and MJG on Grand Hustle? Where's the Purple Ribbon gang? half of Shady records? G-Unit besides Banks and Yayo? Gemini on FNF?

At the LEAST Kanye got Consequence and GLC out, even though these artists aren't the most marketable, they dropped material, as well as Common, John Legend, and Ye himself.

there are worse labels a rapper can sign to. Try signing with Bleek's label Get Low records.

I'll one up that and go with the Young Gunz GIFI (get in where you fit in) label.

FNF in no more. Lupe dropped the entire roster. He said he realized that he didn't know what he was doing. He didn't want to end up like the rest of the rapper owned labels. That was pretty much why I started the topic

Smh @ ppl naming labels that have dropped Platinum albums lol. That alone will get you 50k more fans. They're so many regular ass rappers that have labels that's in use for body guards.

LOL @ not signing to Bad Boy. At least Bad Boy artists have videos in rotation:

Red Cafe- the song that features Ryan Leslie and Ross

MGK- Wild Boy

French Montana- Shot Caller

and that's not counting the rappers that have gone platinum and multiplatinum on the label.
