Bulshitt. The Lakers won two championships with Kobe playing the exact same way he's playing now. People just got caught up in the narative about him becoming more unselfish and making his teamates better when in reality he just got better teamates. Go look at the box scores kobe was shooting just as much then as he is now. The bigger issue isn't that the Lakers can't win in the long term with Kobe shooting so much but that the Lakers can't win in the Long term period. Aftert the bIg three they are awful. Like truly awful. They have no gaurds after Kobe who are even half way decent. Their best small foward is freaking Matt Barnes, and they have probably the worst bench in the league. Not to mentiont they are probably the most unathletic team in the league. Basically the Lakers suck, but Kobes play is masking that fact.

And by the way the Lakers have a .702 winning percentage in Kobes 40 point games a .696 percent winning percentage in his 50 point games. Thats by far the best of any player with a significant amount of 40 point games. Oh and the lakers have a .959 winning percentage in his 40 point games in the playoffs.

And people need to stop acting like kobe shoots 40 percent ar something. He's shot 46% for his career. Thats very good for a shooting gaurd. Jordan shooting 50% for his career is amazing and is one of the many reason why he is the GOAT but most sg's don't do that. Ray allen is one the best shooters ever and he's a career 45% shooter.

I agree Kobe has been playing pretty much the same way, but the offensive schemes this year are totally different.... the Triangle Offense was a more intricate and disciplined offense but Kobe would break it from time to time to show he still nice....no prob with that....but there is no triangle to fall back on anymore....once Kobe starts shooting, he starts SHOOTING.....in 07-08 when they made it to the Finals he shot 20.6 attempts per game, the two years straight the Lakers won, he shot 20.9 and 21.5 attempts per game respectively.....this year hes taking 25.1 attempts per game......last time he shot 25 + he had the likes of Kwame Brown, Brian Cook, Luke Walton, Smush Parker, Aaron McKie, Young Bynum, Odom, Chris Mihm..so he had an excuse then......but not really cause even then the Lakers used the Triangle and he busted out of it on many occassions but i can see why.......

This year, tho the Lakers bench is on par or even a little better than the Lakers bench in 05-06, BUT, he still got Gasol and Bynum down there in the starting line up and id argue as old and wack as Fisher is today, Id trust him running the point over Smush anyday.....he still shooting like he got Kwame and Mihm down low.....its great for highlights and for people to keep talking but ill concede to your point that the Lakers know they wont win in the long term with the squad he has now

Context is the word here tho.... anybody who watches ball knows that Post Shaq, majority of Kobe's playoff 40 point performances were against non defensive teams like Phoenix and Denver....not surprised he won majority of those games....and yes Ray Allen is a career 45% shooter and is one of the best ever....but clearly the three point shot is a lower percentage shot compared to the midrange.....Ray Allen shot over 6000 threes while Kobe shot barely over 4000 for their respective careers.....and Kobe barely edges Ray Allen all time in shooting percentage....we see nothing wrong with this??
