Comment smacks of one of those "This is going to sound really intelligent" comments that backfires. Should've said no comment and kept it pushing.

Kobe's been pushing the "One Race" agenda(which I happen to agree with) but like you said, a no comment would have been better on this occasion.

Typical Tobe.. This nigga doesn't have a real nigga bone in his body.. He showed that when he was just getting questioned by those pigs in that hotel room.. and out nowhere threws Shaq under the bus to try and protect himself.. Smh.. also this same coon who misquoted MLK at some awards show when going through rape case.. I think that coon Tobe said "an injustice anywhere, is an injustice everywhere"(the real MLK quote is "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere").. So when you going through your case your were running around calling it injustice.. and you want niggas to support you.. but now when see a young nigga who doing nothing wrong.. but try and get home and watch the all-star game.. Then gets killed in cold blood by bitch made dude.. you can't show any real empathy towards Trayvon & his family.. and understand why niggas would want defend Trayon.. SMDH...

This is why every African American with money and fame should not speak for Black America. Everyone doesn't have the insight to articulate our plights and speak to our strengths. Kobe, while great as an athlete, doesn't have the heart to put aside his money for a minute to speak on something real. Could you imagine if Kobe would have made the stand to not play in any games in florida until Stand your Ground was overturned?? You know how many of his basketball peers would've followed?? But everyone ain't built for that Muhammad Ali life, bruh

Jim Brown was right.

If you're holding a meeting for a group about "Great Fathers" would you invite Shawn Kemp?

If you're holding a meeting for a group for hetero dating - would you invite Jason Collins?

If you wanted to take pictures of photogenic NBA players that love to smile - would you call Perk?

So that's why Jim said what he said. And now we know.

Is he a cornball brother?

Not a cornball, just selfish and out of touch. It's easy for a Black athlete that has the means to pretend as though there is no color line, to just brush a polarizing case such as Trayvon Martin's aside. But, as stated in this thread, Kobe has always had an issue with accountability. It's just unfortunate, because he does have the money and clout that would make people stand up and listen smh
