Honestly it's worth the shot. If we don't change the locker room now its going to get really ugly these last 30 games. McGrady would hobble into the Garden and already be the best player on the team.

son u gotta be crazy....Walsh has them in position to make a big splash this offseason and D'antoni has done a good job this year....they have alot of young guys on the team and the biggest guy in they lineup is like 6'9....even with that, just about 2 weeks ago they were only a few games out of the 8th seed (even though now they lost a few in a row).....but they were predicted to be a bottom 5 team and they havent been that bad.

Edit: but they did fuck up with the draft....that was not a goodlook

the Knicks needed this change,cause for one the Knicks sucked for a long ass time even patrick ewing couldnt save this team,i feel the only way the knicks gonna ever see a championship is doing this move and get Tracy Mcgrady and get a few more new people then they can compete.I see playoffs in New York Future now

I gotta disagree here for the Knicks to be out of it in a terrible Eastern Conf. is a terrible job. I know he isn't working with a full deck but he has alienated players, hasn't played the youngsters and if the Knicks don't pull off a trade this season has the potential to take a complete nosedive because of the resentment towards D'antoni. He doesn't get a pass for me.

PLAYING IT SAFE: With eight days left before the trade deadline, Walsh says his strategy is simple.

"If we can get a good player who doesn't hurt you in the summer and helps you we'd consider it," Walsh said. "But it also depends on who you give up."

The Knicks are limited in what they can do because Walsh doesn't want to take on long-term contracts unless he is getting an impact player in return. The Suns' Amar'e Stoudemire and Toronto's Chris Bosh could be available, but the Knicks don't have the resources to land either one.

"I think good players will be available," Walsh added. "But to get the guys you're thinking of you're not going to probably be able to trade for them."

Houston's Tracy McGrady is available, and the Knicks would be willing to trade Larry Hughes and Darko Milicic for the perennial All-Star, but the Rockets are looking for young players, draft picks and/or expiring contracts. The Knicks are in the market for a pure point guard, especially with Chris Duhon and Robinson set to become free agents this summer.
