If a BLACK comedian feels comfortable dissing black women JOKE OR NOT but wont talk politics or gays which really happen to be trending more than anything today, it says a lot about respect for black people.

Joke about politics, risk your career.

Joke about gays, risk your career.

Joke about black issues, hurr durr here have a laugh.

The fuck man.....

He never said he didn't talk about politics because it can damage your career he said he's just not a political comedian. It takes a certain talent to do that and many who try that route fail and end up making themselves look like idiots when they try to touch on deeper issues, Steve Harvey, Katt Williams, Eddie Griffin at times all fall or have fell into that before. That brand of comedy ain't for everyone.

As far as the black jokes it's interesting the trigger seems to be the dark skin comment. People keep saying he got dark skin family members when really that shit should offend all black folks dark or light. This is why some won't take the outrage seriously because the same people mad about this will make a or repost a light skin niggas is soft, emotional, etc and see nothing wrong with it and laugh along

He didn't say "that's not my lane" he said "it's too dangerous".

Ok, but here's my point: when he says its too dangerous he's refering to this current gay agenda climate.

So before this gay agenda took ovr the last few years, did he do gay jokes before??

If not, WHATS IN IT FOR HIM to start making gay jokes now? When clearly and obviously there is far more risk than reward.

corny shit..i woulda called him out on it in a personal 1 on 1 convsation

at the end of the day he's a fuckign comedian....get over it

This is what we have to remember at the end of the day. But, the issue I think we are having is that he is a comedian. And there have been a lot of black comedians from the older generations that stood for something. They knew they were in the spotlight and felt a social responsibility when it came to representing black people on their field. Dick Gregory, Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, Bill Cosby. then you have some younger comedians like Dave chappelle, Patrice O'Neal, Eddie Griffith, katt Williams who put social commentary on their material. So maybe our expectations are a little high. These new niggas just ain't cut from the same cloth and are all about the almighty dollar.

Katt Williams ain't exactly better at keeping himself from saying and doing stupid shit himself. Went on a if evolution is real why are monkeys still around and if you don't believe in God you're stupid rant in his last special lol

stop deflecting from the real issue bruh....

It's part of the real issue though. I mean Katt Williams got on playing a glorified pimp gimmick. That image aint exactly the best either and neither was the content of some of his jokes. He not the person you want to use because he can be picked apart worse than Kevin Hart

so cats just gonna ignore the fact that he scared to diss gheys, but blacks are fair game?

his "i'm a comedian" shit looks weak with that revelation.

Yeah that should be the topic of discussion. This n(gga basically admitted to being scared to crack jokes on a certain group with a strong lobby and influence in Hollywood and is not scared to crack jokes on his own group because 'we' lack a strong lobby and unity. I like Kevin Hart but he basically admitted to having no integrity...

Naaah ngga dont try the 'caping' copout, just get this work. It aint even about Kevin Hart moreso the blatantly obvious elephant in the room from my perspective: there's a difference between a member of a group makin fun of his own group vs someone not from the group making fun.

Me makin a wheelchair joke (in this day n age) would be taken differently than a dude in a wheelchair makin a wheelchair joke.

Its the same lack of context that i see white people use when they say " black people use the n word why cant we" and quite frankly its disgusting. Im just shocked and surprised to see it from "us".

Let his words speak for him. And he is not just jesting at the expense of black people mind you. He is making jokes that can be a sore spot for some because colorism is real and still rampan in the black community. So to say what he said and how strongly people feel about he light skinned vs dark skinned debate only proves he doesn't care.

he just a comedian, get over

the fact that he selectively chooses to talk about black woman because no one will do shit about it. but gheys and politics are off limits because he's a pussy who doesn't believe in the comic creed he is espousing..

Lol Rolls eyes. Oh my gosh. Since when have comedians ever had to...nvm. I see yall are having a very prim n proper, pinky in the air, conversation. I refuse to do that.

Last thing ima say on this topic: on the IC we say all the time 'gay is the new black', 'u cant say shyt about gay people these days', etc. When we say it, we're not defending it, we're stating a truth of how it is now unfortunately

Thats all Kevin Hart is saying imo, and yall are acting like he made these rules.

It all make sense now, u just riding for your ppl

The greatest comedians were ahead of their time, and said things that stretched the boundaries of what the status quo considered morality. If Twitter existed when Pryor, Carlin, Lenny Bruce, Redd Foxx and Eddie Murphy was out, they'd be publicly shamed for their acts and forced to apologized. Murphy made jokes about gays all the time even tho he's a tranny chaser. Kevin Hart is just playing it safe with the whole "black people be like" shit that's been played out since Comic View, but scared to joke about gay people. I don't care what he talks about, but I'm choke slam the next cat that says Kevin Hart is one of the funniest comedians of all time when he can't even push the boundaries of his own art.

Smh

Here we have a comedian that publicly admits gays are off limits yet clearly sees no problem making fun of his own to entertain black AND white folk, and u don't have a problem with that?

Lol its not a big deal but let's not pretend this is just something we should dismiss as simply being a smart business decision

Reminds me of when Dave Chappell was on oprah and he talked of how during a skit he seen a white man laughing and how it made him uncomfortable with the direction of his show

Begs the question do blk artist even comedians have a responsibility to challenge negative blk stereotypes instead of perpetuating them for a laugh

Even richard pryor said that there was a thin line between being a tom amd depicting human beings

@ underlined I actually do believe it 100% is a business decision. One both white and black comedians are making, just none have come out and blatantly said it, and most arent as famous as Hart

i think kevin hart is funny,

he's just afraid of losing his spot.....

so he's trying to be careful not to offend....which does offend a lotta black people, because the comics who are near and dear to our hearts, never gave a shit about offending, if there was something that needed to be said, it was said

kevin hart just not cut from that cloth....

doesn't take away from his comedy, but it does damage his standing as one of the greats.....

Im ready for this kevin heart ship to sail, he was alright at 1st but once white folks like you they burn you out then you want to censor yourself to keep them white dollars coming in.

that's why i fucks with tracey morgan.....

told them faggots if they can take a dick they can take a joke

Nothing happens in a vacuum, so you cant just say comics from 30, 20, even 10 years ago all said what they wanted, if you're not gonna address the huge cultural shifts and demographic changes (gay mfers are rampant now). Thats just not fair or accurate. So Eddie murphy, b/c he's a legend with nfg, would do a faggot bit today? You lie.

And the last mainstream comedian "near and dear" to us was Chapelle and i'll bet theres certain shyt he said just 10 short years ago that he wouldnt/couldnt say today.
