Yes how people get on has changed however having some instagram followers isn't going to make someone cast you in a movie role. Especially as a comedian and the examples you used, Rock and Hart, don't fit the mold of "taking one small role then blowing up" because that didn't happen to either one of them. That shit is something that takes years of grinding out, doing live shows, finding your exact niche as a comic etc. brings. Yes times have changed but the methods of developing talent haven't. You still need experience before someone invests money into your career and not just some instagram videos that not even majority of people agree is funny. You're saying shit like it's a guarantee dude will blow up and it's just that easy to "Get a small movie role, steal a scene and then you're on the way to the top"...hell using the Kevin Hart example again Hart stole that scene in the tech store...and it STILL took damn near a decade for that success to come and he's one of the mos recent examples of someone in comedy who uses social media to boost his career alot.

And as for Soulja Boy and Bobby Shumrda...they got quick success but who in the hell is still checking for SB now? Nigga ain't selling records so would you rather have longevity like Jay Z or a quick run then become a laughing stock like Soulja Boy?
