And a hypocrite. How the fuck can you cosign white people doing the same bullshit to another group that they do to us. It's crazy how people think.

That shit is hella disrespectful though

That's like having a team called the black skins w/ a slave or just a regular black man as the logo

or how about the yellowskins w/ a buck toothed Asian with a bowl cut as the logo

Native Americans are the one race who has the right to have a chip on their shoulder as much if not more than blacks

I'll admit I'm kinda insensitive because I'm not Native American and Redskins just flows as a team name because we're conditioned to think of it as normal,It's not

And just like "Nigger" you got these ppl telling Native Americans what they should find offensive and saying fuck them and their feelings.

it's funny how we have whites, blacks, hispanics, etc. discussing what native americans should find offensive or not

There is a large group of native Americans who been trying to stop teams from taking offensive names

Shit since most of them got killed, ain't too many to speak up

To me to have a football team called the Washington Redskins is like having a team called the Alabama Darkies. The shit is overtly racist and needs to be changed asap.

wow... kevin hart is obv. not a smart man, and of course don lemon's here to make black people look shitty. the name needs to be changed, dc native or nah.

All the people that are running around asking "Why is this a problem now?" are idiots. Natives didn't just start complaining about this. They've been doing it. People just started listening.

And I wouldn't say the term "Redskin" is comparable to "Nigger," but that doesn't change the fact that it is offensive to a lot of Natives. Porch Monkey isn't comparable to the N-word either, but ya'll know damn well there would be hell to pay if that became the mascot of a new team.

Yeah I grew up in DC. Hell now I literally live on the same street as FedEx Field. It's all of 3 lights up the hill from me. This has been a discussion nearly every year it's just in the past 3-4 with the help of social media it's picked up consistent steam. What's honestly made it worse though now is Daniel Snyder's reactions. Listening to local sports radio he's made some folks who were for keeping the name actually change their mind with how arrogant he's been about not ever wanting to change the name.

Yeah man, Snyder is a jackass. Pretty much, his only argument for keeping the name is because it's tradition. So dude is basically saying it's cool to disrespect an entire group of people as long as you have an established history of doing it. I can't believe people tried to argue that wasn't racist. That's the definition of racism.

it's likely an even larger part of this is the "YOU CAN'T MAKE ME" factor.

They actually threw out the case before on a technicality because the people bringing the complaint previously were too old. They got the younger members of their group to step up. Natives have been fighting for their rights since the white man first landed on their shores.

But he was way off by saying it's not offensive. Natives have been trying to get "redskin" removed for years now, from what I understand they also want to get rid of the Florida St. "Seminoles" name too.

The NCAA was going to force Florida State to drop their Seminoles name until the Seminoles tribe in Florida threatened the NCAA with a lawsuit if they did. The Seminoles tribe in Florida actually approved the logo and the usage of the nickname. They get a cut of all merchandise sales. The Seminoles in Florida are one of the wealthiest tribes in the country. They own the Hard Rock restaurant chain and all Hard Rock Hotels and Casinos except for the Las Vegas one.

This is fucking red herring and distracts from the issues at hand. If the Skin change their name that isn't going to stop the Injuns from drankin', lower the rates of diabetes, stop those muthafuckas from using crank at the rate they do, and improve the overall quality of life on the reservation. On the other hand, what would it hurt if Synder did change the name. Personally, I think

Chief Wahoo is hella more offensive than the name Redskins. BTW, shouldn't the Chinaman cap be yellow?

Chief Wahoo is some straight Sambo shit.

However, I've always from it ironic that the Irish never had a problem with,

The only thing missing from this muthafucka is a red hair, a whiskey bottle in his back pocket, circles and stars to indicate that he's drunk.
