I can say this fucking album changed my life. Before it came out, I was dealing with a lot of inner demons and was just throwing away my education and future . This album helped me get my life back in order.

People underestimate the power and influence music has on the soul...

Real talk I had my own issues with a depressive mindstate a couple years ago and just resignation with things (moving to a new environment and adapting to it) and Lupe Fiasco's The Cool was a comforter around '08

Then KanYe's 808's & Heartbreak was also a comforter another time dealing with loss and a nasty break up too especially the song 'Say You Will'

Glad you beat the odds brotha...

No bonus tracks?

The night that the album dropped, I predicted that a surprise part 2 (12 Homies at the White House?) to this album would eventually drop. At the very least, I can see him adding 4 bonus tracks to the album.

I was somewhat correct. He did eventually drop the 'Untitled' bonus mini-album.

I love hearing about an artist work having this kind of positive effect on ppl personally. Even if it didn't impact me the same way.

It touched a lot of people and that's what great art/music do. Music touches people souls in different ways. I remember in college when people heard C-Murder's "Down for my Niggaz" all the frats would start strolling, almost ready to fight - LOL! Go to club, it was the same thing with Lil Jon.

I really appreciate the messages from Kendrick on TPAB. In an interview, he said artists have a responsibility with their platform and he's right.

The album was excellent and was Kendrick's best work - in my opinion. A lot of people were complaining about the jazz sound this, soul sound that, blah, blah, blah. But the album was still dope and is one of the highest rated rap albums of all time, earned a lot of Grammy/BET nominations and awards for it. One song "Alright" was chanted at protests throughout the country.

I enjoy DAMN (classic album) and I've been listening to it everyday. But I think Kendrick knew he couldn't come out with another album that had the TPAB feel or vibe. He knows our people are not comfortable unless they hear beats like DNA, Loyalty and Humble. So he somewhat compromised and mixed things up a little with this album. I really can't blame him with today's listeners who have short attention spans and enjoy stuff like Drake, Migos, Future or [insert any mumble rapper here].

After he drops the leftovers from this album (we know it's coming, you can't leave songs with DJ Premier on the table), I think he's going to drop another project with a vibe similar to TPAB. It's going to be dope (like every album he puts out) and receive praise from every critic around the country, but you're going to have a lot of people hating if they hear a trumpet, saxophone, guitar or something that's stepping outside the box.

One of those albums where listening to it front to back does it the most justice. This album was crafted very meticulously unlike DAMN which is kind of thrown together.

It seems like DAMN was crafted pretty meticulously as well...

Nah. Damn doesn't tell a story like Section 80, GKMC and TPAB. Very half assed effort of story telling.

yes it does.

I'm talkin' fear, fear of losin' loyalty from pride

'Cause my DNA won't let me involve in the light of God

I'm talkin' fear, fear that my humbleness is gone

I'm talkin' fear, fear that love ain't livin' here no more

I'm talkin' fear, fear that it's wickedness or weakness

Fear, whatever it is, both is distinctive

Fear, what happens on Earth stays on Earth

And I can't take these feelings with me

So hopefully they disperse

Within fourteen tracks, carried out over wax

Searchin' for resolutions until somebody get back

Fear, what happens on Earth stays on Earth

And I can't take these feelings with me

So hopefully they disperse

Within fourteen tracks, carried out over wax

Wonderin' if I'm livin' through fear or livin' through rap

the boy was searching for answers.

Great album, 7/10

The tracks i like are timeless to me, the tracks i dont like ill never listen to again.

Mortal man is one of the greatest songs ever, BEFORE the pac interview.

GKMC is better, but TPAB is my favorite kendrick album.
