What a dollar cost is a fucking classic

I said it..its beautiful..the mood,the story,the delivery..

It's obvious everybody doesn't listen to music to the same way

'What A Dollar Cost' jumped at me during my very first listen to the album, which was the night it dropped.

Being 100.......I've found myself hitting homeless people's hands with money since I fully heard/understood that song. It's a deep & well-constructed song.

can someone post the tracklist for the deluxe version? its 15.00 on google play and 13 bucks at best buy for deluxe version im just trying to make sure I get all the songs. But I also want it on my phone CDs are so old fasion

there is no delux version holmes

Which is a damn shame..

I heard some low quality snippets of kendricks new "album" way back

It was him rapping over some hardcore west coast beat and a vocal sample with people talking about going back to africa

There has to be part 2 or bonus tracks..

What happened to that 12 homies in front of the white house part of the title?

In an interview with Complex this afternoon, To Pimp A Butterfly producer Terrace Martin confirmed that Kendrick Lamar will not release the "Untitled" song that he premiered on the series finale of the Colbert report back in December. According to Martin, who produced eight tracks on Kendrick's new album, there is no master recording of the song, which was written specifically for the live Colbert performance and intended to be "just a moment" rather than an official, commercial release. "It don't even exist nowhere in the world," Martin told Complex, "except on the Colbert Report."

Yea I was just going to post this..

I'm tight that it's not going to be release now but I understand K Dot wanted to do something special just for the Colbert Report. Such a dope track. Maybe they'll get into the studio & redo the song in the near future

yeah .. i mean the whole "delux album" gimmick is just a marketing ploy created by the labels to boost up the cost of albums ... back in the day those extra 3 or 4 songs would be just called bonus tracks not to be included in the body of the album .. because they didn't fit the context of what was happening or whatever (i.e. "bitches n sisters" or "lyrical exercise" off the blueprint 1) ... people take that delux album shit to be literal and i think some artist dont want people to misinterpret what the actual body of work is .... if tracks 1-16 is what i want people to judge this album based on then im not gonna come with a delux album and confuse people with 4 more tracks that dont fit into what i was trying to deliver

as far as this goes .. i think this was just some cutting room floor shit .. from what i understand this picture leaked via a dude that works for DONDA which is Kanye's creative house that does album covers and other shit .. i think dude just leaked a cutting room floor version of the album artwork and if you actually look at it there's something before the 12 in 12 homies at the white house .. so its probably just some extra shit they were playing around with or considering to put on the cover .. i dont know if that means it was actually ever a part of the name or that there's supposed to be a part 2 to the album

^^^^ snippets to songs not on TPAB

I strongly believe these are off 12 homies in front of the white house

yeah it could be some leftover work or it could be for some shit for another artist ... those songs don't necessarily have to be "his" .. you feel me?

3rd/4th full listen

8/10, good album, not classic and not close

No need to force it due to the climate

From 1-8 im just not overwhelmed. Album picks up at the end. Some good deep songs that will keep growin on me, but its just not really a smooth listen. The beat switches and startin n stoppin took away from the cohesiveness

After 3 listens I give it an 8.5 out of 10. Not comparable to GKMC, but that's not a bad thing glad he put out something different. On that note it's not better than GKMC, no TPAB will not one day be considered a classic. I love the pro black feel of the album, but at the same time nothing jumps out and grabs me on this album. Nothing is bad, but nothing transcends anything else either.

And the telltale sign that you know mfers is bullshyttin callin it classic?

I dont think i've seen ANYONE say this is better than GKMC. Yet this is classic?

If this were classic, wouldnt there be atleast SOME argument its better than GKMC??

Just like the minute Blueprint came out pwople, immediately said it can hang with RD, Stillmatic (and 2 an extwnt IWW) can hang with Illmatic, Late Reg vs Dropout

If GKMC is unanimously better than TPAB,,and GKMC is a fringe classic itself, thats your proof right there. Give it time, yall will come back down to earth. Now back to enjoying this GOOD album

I've seen a few people say that..

why does it have to be better than good kid maad city. that takes nothing away from the album due to the fact the good kid maad city was a totally different concept album to begin with. nas never made a better album than illmatic to some, jay never made a better album than reasonable doubt to most. wu tang never made another group project better than enter the 36 chambers. the project is dope and has a enough potential to be a classic. over the years i've learn to stop comparing albums for the main reason your never going to get a album that sounds exactly the same artists change with the times some growth for the better others fade away. but i never expect any album to be better than a debut album.
