I could care less what his first week sales are, the album is great and will be talked about for years to come. I bought 2 physical copies just to support another artist that i like. Fuck all sales shit. Good music is timeless

I enjoyed the album..

But lets keep it 100

This album isn't a true pro black revolutionary album.. There is no "fight the power","nature of the threat", "Cave bitch", etc...

As unapologetic as "blacker the berry" seems,it still doesn't pack the vitriol and intensity as true pro black rap album

This album is Kendricks "2pacalyspe now"... Yet Kendrick himself is no where 2pac in energy or intensity

Section 80 was rawer..im grateful for this album tho because its a surprise interscope allowed a album like this to be mainstream in 2015

I get what you're saying, but Kendrick on TPAB>>>>>> 2Pac on 2pacalypse

Kendrick has a strong presence of who he is as an artist.

Although he mad up for it with zeal and energy. 2pac was really a 18 ,19 year old kid who was still very raw. Still impressive tho.

2Pacalypse was a good overall album, that aged better than S4MN.. S4MN had better individual songs, like Keep Ya Head Up, etc ...but as an album, it was traaaaaaaash. I actually still play 2Pacalypse.

This album is as pro black as it gets.

Kendrick is embracing himself. ppl think pro black = vitrol.Thats goofy shit.

Thats that, "im butt hurt, cause u guys don't want to be my freind

, so fuck yall"...

While On TPAB, Kendrick is like ,"yall that want to be my friend. Cool. I can validate my self".

Thats true pro black. That's James Baldwin, Langston Huges, Zora Neal Hurston.

True pro black is embracing your self as an individual. Doing that, u also embrace your race. Because u are black, and you love being black, cause u love being u...

All that other shit, is fake.

TPAB isnt as pro black as it gets bruh...that's hyperbole

You must of never heard the "edutainment" album by KRS-one or a public enemy album?...how about "lets get free" by dead prez?

I agree with your last statement...

It's my favorite song last few days. Shows how he stuck in a position where he tryna still be a celebrity but his guys from Compton not changing and still being who they are from... Compton

Bought it today.

Ran through it twice so far...i honestly have nothing bad to say about it. Not calling it perfect, but i feel he executed his intentions. The creativity, the instrumentation, the lyrics, the layers the cohesion...shit was well put together. he went the fuck in on this.

don't really know what to make of it as far as overall message(s) yet...gonna have to sit with it for a while longer...all i know is that im thoroughly satisfied with this album.

It's a Pro Black album to me. Unashamedly. From the vibe to the lyricism to the production.

Even sociopolitical in its context (pay extra attention to the convo with Pac)

The opening lyrics to the album are: "every (nigga) is a star.." - very powerful statement there

K. Dot is still considerably young (he's under 30 years of age).. some of his ideals and thought process within the contents of his lyrics might not appeal to most (Black) people but he gets extra props for making a record about his racial construct and the pain and gain that goes with it as an American

After the success of GKMC, you'd have expected him to have played it safe with his next joint..

And that album cover alone bruh?

We also need the lil haters and trolls to further prolong and expand the thread.. .
