My nigga typed a 6 paragraph thesis on this album, from his phone and has the gall to say "Lupe thread worse" I done seen it all on the Reason

You must've been one of them stans in that Lupe thread then.

Like nigs wasn't in there talking about getting parallel stories if you play the album forwards and backwards--just off the man pointing to the album back while unknowingly holding it upside down.

Dudes was talking about it being the soundtrack to a video game. On some "if you start The Wizard of Oz, Pink Floyd & this album at the same they all run in sync," type shit.

nah, he flipped it upside down knowingly.

Lu was holding it upright & flipped it to point at the track list. When I say unknowingly I mean he didn't purposefully have it upside down.

Niggas pulled out their tin-foil snap backs and started talking about him showing the track list creating a crucifix cross with the bar code being at the top.

Best Buy.

There's clearly confusion about it though. I called a couple stores, most didn't have it. I called Best Buy and they said they had it. I show up, none on the shelves, nobody can find it. Eventually they grabbed a stack of them outta the back somewhere. lol not a smooth album release.

Dude the album comes out next week

It's on iTunes, the physical and digital are on Amazon, and I just went into a store and bought it. It's out now to me.

Niggas swear rappers are some fucking apes that couldn't dare to come with any sort of out of the box creativity in regards to story delivery or presentation ... this is the same nigga who made an album about a resurrected dead hustler with dice for eyes personifying the illusion of notoriety and success .. yet having any duplicity in the narratives of his further work blows your mind out of the water?

nigga go sit your stupid ass down and listen to some OG Maco

i hate you new niggas

I'm sure when people are comparing this album to Aquemini, they are by how this album is structured, where he got inspiration from, the sound etc. which is what they mean by sonically, they are not saying this album is 5 mic classic or in the same vein as Aquemini or if it even ranks in the tier of it... just how I mentioned in the former....

How 'bout just not mention it at all and let it be good/great on its own? Its not Aquemini at all. It doesnt start like Aquemini, It doesnt end like Aquemini, theres no single like "Rosa Parks" theres not gonna be bands playing "Spottieottiedopalicious" 15 years from now from it. I could go on but I think you get the point, aint nobody falling asleep listening to Aquemini.

So I guess going by this logic that means all the other albums that have gained inspirations from other albums shouldn't be compared to one another, just because they aren't that particular album

So I shouldn't compare this

just because one is a classic, went plat and all that shit and one did not? Even though any person with a brain can figure out that these albums are similar in subject matter etc and I'm sure Killer Mike would say Cube influenced him on that album? Come on dude..

I've sat with this album for the past couple of days...having each song on repeat, first feeling the groove of the beats and then intently digesting the lyrics by ear first and then seeking out rap genius next, I personally want to tell Kendrick Lamar, Thank You.

He took the complexity of being black in America and put into an album that makes everyone uncomfortable. He exposed our weakness of emotional/mental imbalances by shedding light on our frustrations of always having to live a life of survival. He repeatly stripped us of the victim badge and challenged us to take some blame. K Dot reminded us why others try so hard to emulate our culture, we effortlessly set trends and change the dynamics of fashion/music/art everyday. A black man...sat down with black influences to make a 16 track album filled with Blackness for black people intentionally.

So Kendrick thank you for a 79 minute reminder of why the melanin in my skin is beautiful....because the world reminds me every few seconds why its not.

Also, please stop comparing him with Cole...they both are great in their own rights.

Why is this wet substance coming out my eyes smh

Difference btw me and a lot of you beaten Rosenbergs is that I will admit that I'm a Lupe stan. Lupe is a particular artist which is why folks was trying to figure out what his album really is about. He gave niggas an art piece that's up for interpretation. Not sayin this isn't the same but there's alotta pot calling the kettle black kendrick fans in here .

Did you really just compare an Ice Cube offspring to comparing To Pimp A Butterfly to Aquemini? That doesnt even make sense. What buddy said about Kendrick "fitting" into Dungeon Family makes a lot more sense then comparing this album to Aquemini. Please elaborate, you can go track by track if you'd like. Thanks for responding instead of just hitting a reaction with no rebuttal btw.

That beat change before "Momma" goes off is boo boo.

"u" is wack until half way.

Gave it a few more listens, still a 3/5.

The funny voices, he just needs to cut that shit out.

Complexion is fuckin dope.

Only like Snoop's parts on institutionalized.

King Kunta is funky but the verses are weak.

Once again wasted that Nigga is a Star beat.

That Pac skit was whatever.

This was K Dot chance to put the game in a choke hold. Shit is wide open now, ball is in Drake's court now.

I fucks with it. Of course I need to listen to it a few more times in order to give an accurate review. But on first listen it sounds good to me.

Stew he isn't really comparing the two...

lol just by bringing the album up alone means you're comparing them one way or another. Its funny most people who hear this album think its somewhat a "conscious" album but Aquemini aint even their conscious effort, its ATLiens. Thought that was a no brainer.

Lmfao OG Maco? Dumb nigga did you even read any of my posts in this thread? Do any of them read like I listen to a fucking OG anybody? I praised both albums.

My point is don't feed me no bullshit like an upside down track list and tell me TPAB is convoluted. Step your comprension up, don't be simple.

Gentleman, let this nigga be an example of what I was saying. Kendrick fans are no where near being the worse when I didn't even bad mouth Tetsuo & his nigga ran out with his best Kick Push cape & knee pads on to defend Lupe's honor.
