After first listen, yeah this an dope album. Kdot really speaking on real shit here. I haven't really listen to the lyrics closely on first listen, but definitely very detailed shit being said. Jazzy/soul feel, Zulu/ flying lotus and Terrance Martin influenced sounds all though this album.

Mortal man might be my favorite track.

unlike many before him, it's great to hear an artist not wallowing in paranoia but instead projecting it outwards like he has done on this album.

reminds me of Public Enemy during that 'ITANOM' era.

yo theres a lot of metaphors on this shit .... ALOT .... you gotta let this shit play about 2-3 times to wash away whatever your expectations of the album would be and come at it from a clear perspective dont let the shift in the soundscape scare you off cos it is different than what he has done in the past ... im liking it more and more as i play it .. there's really no weak sounding tracks ... and the depth of the lyricism is masterful the metaphors are in abundance ...this is to me sounding like his most "personal" work .. and thats saying alot considering his content is typical introspective as is.. this record turns it up a notch with that tho

this is reminding me of how Nas decided to go left when he made It Was Written... after Illmatic .. in the sense that he didn't give a fuck about what people "expected" him to do .. he just went in and made shit that was creative .. that album took some hits when it first came out .. i see the same for this one

For one i'm not a geek by any means lol, but i compare hiphop albums because thats always been done since hiphop has started i never said no one couldnt like drake i said drake mixtape was trash and kendrick project is a actually better than all of drake projects honestly just based of lyrical content and substance.
