It may have affected his first week #s just because some people may not have known it came out early....didn't have the money at the time it came out or weren't tech savvy enough to get it via other legit digital sources other than iTunes. Also some people only buy the physical copy, so those people would have had to wait until it was available in stores on the actual release date. I don't think it will affect his #s overall though. Imo, if a person is/was going to buy they album, they would do so no matter whether it leaked early or came out on the actual release date.

This album is ok. It's a step back from GKMC. it sounds one dimensional and doesn't grab my attention like the last. I like kendrick and I bought the album out of support but this album didnt do it for me

So first week was digital and second week physical copy, got it.....has any other rap artist released a album that way before?....I still plan on copping it,might be the first time I get two...but it's no way you can expect 1st week million sales with that kind of release, but like you said overall it should still do his #'s.

Also the thing that hurt so bad was that it came out early for a second, but then they pulled it because apparently it was a mistake. It was only available for purchase on itunes for like two days after the initial release. This killed a lot of his momentum.

Momma and How Much a Dollar are instant classic songs imo

That 2nd verse of Momma eyuck

How much a dollar deserves the 'lemme sit down, turn it up, and dissect this' treatment

Watch The Throne and Beyoncé's album were both digital a week or two before they were released in stores. I don't know what the panic is with how much it should sell though.. I guess in turn, if the label sees it as a flop (which it isn't) they'll start to Lasers Lupe the man..

Sheeit, fuk King Kunta, come out to Hood Politics

And that shoulda been the single. 'Boo boo' woulda caught on

I feel like Kendrick is getting the Kanye treatment. Like even when they drop mediocre to solid project, the so called critics (Pitchfork, etc) who think they have superior taste will still say it's classic. lol

It's a solid project to me. My major issue is the generic production. I love Jazz influence beats (A Tribe Called Quest, Mecca and the Soul Brother, Gangstarr, etc) and funk beats too (Chronic, etc). Most of the beats don't knock or wow me. My opinion though.
