Kendrick Lamar - "To Pimp a Butterfly"

After giving the album two good listens, I'm interested in the Albums he was listening to while creating his music. I can hear A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Outkast, Roots, and Sly and the Family Stone throughout this album. All groups, not a single artist. Kendrick's album is well put together, it gives off a collective feel not just a single artist. Dope album. I'll have to let it digest before I can rate it.

I like GKMC better but he certainly has established himself as the one mainstream rapper who raps about real shit. You listen to drakes album after this and it just drops your IQ. Like wtf are you talking about bruh get your woes up outta here.

*ducks head and runs outta thread*

we all different bruh lol...fhd doesn't have the same depth imo...this album is more cohesive than fhd also. Both album are dope but only one is classic

Wait so this album is already a classic??? You don't think you jumping the gun a bit I mean it has only been a couple hours lol

It's also too soon to say whether an album that's been out for months is better than an album that dropped just last night. Y'all both jumping the gun

No Pyrex..... I waited forever. In other news. I like the spike lee vibe thusfar. Only 3 joints in. It feels like do the right thing, Death certificate, and It takes a nation of millions, all mixed together. Love this shit.
