I'm going try this album again but I tried to sit through it multiple times after it came out and I didn't think it was a bad album, just boring...idc that there's a message, I respect it but that don't mean the music is automatically good or we should appreciate it just cause

I know niggas got their own opinions but I don't believe you if you say this album was better than GKMC

All that "you gotta listen deeper", "pay attention to the lyrics" stuff is bullshit

I know what the fuck I hear

I like TPAB a lot as evidenced from my early posts in this thread, but like others here...........I like GKMC more.

By the way, has this album even reached platinum status yet?

This why I say its classic

People are reciting his lyrics godammit

LOL....I find your post to be funny because you refused to apply these same standards to Drake's 'Back To Back' diss song when people showed videos of "people reciting Drake's lyrics".

This album is not a classic(folks call EVERYTHING a classic these days), and it's honestly not better than GKMC. A fantastic effort though

So you're implying that I'm dumb because I have a different opinion than you? Well that's very mature. Sorry bruh, but the album ain't a classic and GKMC was better to me *shrugs*.

You can like one over the other but it doesn't give you the right to say one isn't classic or musically superior because you liked the beats or music better. I liked IWW better than Illmatic musically but that doesn't mean it's a better album than Illmatic.

but if u like one over the other that means the one u like more is musically superior to YOU. if i liked iww more than illmatic musically thats basically me sayin i think its a better album. if not i might as well say i think illmatic better and not even factor in what i like which makes no sense. like whats the point of even listening then lol, at least thats how i look at it.

IWW>Illmatic.

It'll be looked at better as a great album years down the road to the general public. It reminds me of another follow up album to a universally great/classic album & had a lot to live up to... It Was Written. Not at ALL saying they are alike beyond that so don't fuckin go crazy. But IWW is like TPAB in a away that I've seen people either really like it, or really think its disappointing when it first came out.

Know what would be good for this generation?

Men and women being responsible adults to their children instead of letting music lead the way.

Dont know or care about wtf niggas talkin. Im the most 'we must protect the word classic' nigga i know, and I despise the TDE dickriders who automatically hail everything from them... and i have no doubt at ALL that this album will be remembered as a classic.

Evry song has a specific topic. Not 1 song is just rapping. He was focused af

And its not just about the theme or what it means in,this climate. ..MUSICALLY its amazing. As well as lyrically

Feeling real humble this morning. This on repeat right now

product_51_b.png

Guilt trippin' and feelin' resentment

I never met a transient that demanded attention

They got me frustrated, indecisive and power trippin'

Sour emotions got me lookin' at the universe different

I should distance myself, I should keep it relentless

My selfishness is what got me here, who the fuck I'm kiddin'?

So I'mma tell you like I told the last bum

Crumbs and pennies, I need all of mines

And I recognize this type of panhandlin' all the time

I got better judgement, I know when nigga's hustlin', keep in mind

When I was strugglin', I did compromise, now I comprehend

I smell grandpa's old medicine, reekin' from your skin

Moonshine and gin, nigga you're babblin', your words ain't flatterin'

I'm imaginin' Denzel but lookin' at O'Neal

Kazaam is sad thrills, your gimmick is mediocre

The jig is up, I seen you from a mile away losin' focus

And I'm insensitive, and I lack empathy

He looked at me and said, "Your potential is bittersweet"

I looked at him and said, "Every nickel is mines to keep"

He looked at me and said, "Know the truth, it'll set you free

You're lookin' at the Messiah, the son of Jehovah, the higher power

The choir that spoke the word, the Holy Spirit

The nerve of Nazareth, and I'll tell you just how much a dollar cost

The price of having a spot in Heaven, embrace your loss, I am God"

So we gone wait for the Grammys aka old white folks to validate this album?

Took me a minute to get into it but damn solid 8.5, haven't heard a lot of albums this year so I can't compare
