when did topic on police brutality/excessive force morph into a "blacks need to respect ourselves"

the major problems we have faced since our kidnapping never have existed bc we didnt respect ourselves enough

"I sho wish I could vote, sit at a lunch counter, read and earn a decent living...but dammit I just dont respect myself enough"

lmao I feel ya Copper

we couldn't drink out of the same water fountain as whites because we didn't "love ourselves". Police beating us & letting K9's on us was all about us not "loving ourselves".

They didn't spray fire hoses on us because they hated us. We were missing the message . They were just trying to get us to see as much potential in ourselves as they do. Leave it to you ungrateful jigaboos to not appreciate a good lesson in culture and society. White people have always believed in us--even when we don't believe in ourselves. God bless the white man.

even funnier that you got a Huey Freeman avi bc that shit was a spot on Ruckus impression

White people wouldn't have came and got us from Africa if we respected ourselves more. That's actually the reason they did, they had to teaxh us the meaning of discipline and hard work. Look at us now...we have let the white man down.

Once again...how is he a coon by not disrespecting Iggy falsalea?

That's his opinion, he hasn't said anything coonish at all. His music is more positive than most of these dudes out now. He is the definition of real hip hop.

Even though everybody wacked an nosigned you, I gotta agree. I listen to kendrick lamar for his music. Not his dumb ass public opinion.

he said some dumb shit. Of course its going to alter how ppl perceive him.

One dumb thing though. If that's enough to change your entire perception of a person then either you had a low opinion of them from jump or they said something extremely, life altering type stupid which this ain't. If saying something stupid is enough to make people disregard everything else then Azaela Banks being at the forefront of the Iggy lynch mob, as well deserved as the lynch mob towards Iggy is, is hilarious. Hell right now she on her twitter page talking about being a natural witches and wizards and how she should be speaking making clicking sounds with her tongue because black people's "natural language is better than English".

This right here^^^^ People are wishy washy as hell I think the comment was dumb but this doesn't change my positive perception of the content of his music.

she has just tweeted facts that are on one hand true yet on another hand dont coroborate Lamar's statement.

so WHEN DO WE RAP / TWEET/ THINK / ABOUT SOLUTIONS? cause every year somebody will post / tweet / rap about the same things.

isnt it time to GO FURTHER ON THE SUBJECT?

we know our illnesses. isnt it time to search for THE CURE?

and to finish, like it or not, rocking former enslaver traits such as hair is part of our illnesses.

Black women wear their weaves very differently then white people. Some do straight hair, but it just mimics when they straighten their own hair. Nothing wrong with that. It's like saying a black man can't brush his hair or get waves. Are you saying no black women have hair that resembles the weaves that they wear? Are you saying that white women have perfect hair and don't need work and don't wear weaves and wigs? Not to mention, black women use weaves mostly for braids which is a very African tradition. I even know one girl that used extensions to start off her dreads. Her real hair eventually took over. You acting like they bleaching their skin like some Jamaicans and Africans been doing. Personally, i rather natural (when i say that, i mean none weave, but all hair takes work), but i'm not gonna hate on a fine sista with a weave.

bruh you re free to spend all your money on druggs by example. ill respect that but if you asked about my opinion ill honestly tell you that you have an ADDICTION. and an addiction stems from psychological damages.

if a woman takes all those dollars to like like somebody else MOST OF HER TIME ill respect it too yet ill point out INSECURITIES that have actual , historical , social backgrounds.

WHEN YOU DO EVERYTHING TO HIDE YOUR IDENTITY TRAITS SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH YOU. it s not about brushing hair its about those who hide it REGULARLY and particularly when they want to display their best appearances.

ive lived in Senegal for 13 years and all ive seen was poor people spending their money for that fake hair and lightning / bleaching skin. why ? cause tv programs full of europeans and white brazilians have been fed to us until we had INFERIORITY COMPLEX.

ITS NOT ABOUT HATE. IS ABOUT POINTING OUT HARD TRUTHS BRUH.

And some MF was acting like this Kendrick dude was supposed to be some next coming of the "God MC" over that overrated Control verse.

Look how quickly he turned around and said some coon shit.

He's a decent MC. To me he was never the Second Coming / Savior of Hip-Hop, that some make him out to be

I don't think it was about him being a descent MC. There a lot of good rapping ass rappers out there. He excelled musically and commercially and his message was more easily consumable.
