I know i dont care about the 'politics' of music, ratings, fan opinions i just start a project n let it go from beginning to end and make my own judgment.

I tried to like tpab and tho i didnt i respected it for what he was trying to do. Maybe 2 or 3 listens tops and never fucked with it again.

This album tho is the type that make me wonder how someone doesnt like it. Maybe your standards are impossible? Maybe youre a contrarian? Maybe youre boring? Maybe u only like shit u feel goes over most peoples heads so u can feel special.

He dont have to spit crossword puzzle bars to be sayin some shit. The beats dont have to be super boring for it to be real hip hop. No hate on @bcotton but i think i seen him criticize the lyricism on this album....so do u just drop your standards when u listen to young money or somethin? How tf that work?

Who cares if they play this shit in nba games...they do that with all hits. This might be the first hit they put in a nba game that was actually speaking about shit of substance. Who cares what rosenberg said? U really worried about that?

If u criticize mfs for being sheep bc of 'hype beasts' you get just as much criticism for NOT liking it due to hypebeasts. U basing your opinion, good or bad, based on things other than your own ears.

Its like not liking a ball player cuz u cant stand their fans. Either have better reasoning or put on somethin else.

I make my own opinions..

Music shouldn't be this hard... A classic is a classic on the very first listen and is still a classic on the 100000 listen.. When I find myself searching for something to like.. The album isn't good.. As I mentioned in my first post.. Any other artist I woulda been cut it off. But since it's Kenny I tried to give it a chance. This discussion will probably make me go back and listen on more time just to make sure I'm not bugging..

Which goes back to my original point. Good music you don't search.. That shit touches you in the first 10-20 seconds..

Nah because some shit just doesn't age well or it may take you a while to catch onto certain things on an album. I remember when GKMC dropped and Bomani Jones said when he first played it he didn't like it, then he listened to it a 2nd time in his headphones and that's when it clicked just how good of an album it is. Not everything is going to hit the 1st time because there's no way you can catch everything on an album off the first listen. The nuances, double meanings, beats, lyrics, etc. There's no way possible you can judge an album classic off 1 listen because there's too much to digest, especially with an artist like Kendrick who is known to pack ALOT into his albums

2017 been very good to us so far.

Lookin forward to Nas, Big Krit, E40 & BLegit collab, The Click, & AZ to drop this year.

There's just no way I could see KRIT not dropping a masterpiece especially w/ all these dope ass records. We're in a second golden era of Hip-Hop right now.

You've come so far on Krit @Sion ...I'm so proud of you lol

Ross and Joey's joints are better than this to me. I will say that Joey doesn't have a better song than Duckworth on his joint but all in all he has the better overall joint.

I'm yet to hear more potent lyrics on an album released this year than those on 'Amerikkkan Idol'...

@Sion now ain't you happy you ain't take that bet can't believe y'all thought kdot wouldn't do 400k B)

I would have bet he'd have sold more but iuno these things aren't always easy to tell.

I learned from the last time I took a bet with @KillaCham LOLOLOLOL. I'd have won but Punch botched his release.

Lmao I was thinking about bringing this back. There's so many different components to album sales now tho with SEA, TEA, SPS, etc.

In regards to the album, I've had time to digest it. Great record. As a full body of work, tho,it isn't better than GKMC or TBAP. I don't give a fuck about weird voices, nor am I genre-biased.

it's aight better than that fuck shit that was TPAB not as good as GKMC and not even close to his first joint.

3/5 and that's being generous

Yeah let these guys tell it TPAB is one of best albums of that dropped that year but it isn't all that great period

After a couple listens this is a pretty good album. Nothing crazy. It's not as good as TPAB or GKMC IMO.

I fuck with DNA and FEEL heavily, those 2 songs are greatness and are worth the price of admission. But there's boring moments and a handful of songs that'll probably get the skip from me.

Maybe it'll grow on me, I gotta listen a few more times, but I'm not blown away outside of a couple songs. Joey Bada$$ easily has AOTY so far.

Which ones?

I don't think this is on the level of GKMC and TPAB but it's definitely its own project and stands on its own two.

I have to tip my hat to Kendrick because he's ever-evolving; he always manages to stay one step ahead and the quality doesn't suffer at all. I think TPAB is an overall better project but it's hard to argue that DAMN. doesn't have more replay value. Sonically, it's just so cohesive in a weird way. I've played the album 10x since coppin and it doesn't sound stale.

We're blessed as fans that this dude is pushing his line this hard in front of our eyes.
