Shit fire so far. So whos going to admit joeys album is causing you to unfairly judge this album? Ill wait.

Dogg... I dont even thing half these ppl were active in Joeys thread

Yeah I havent really checked for joey since that 1999, it was cool but it just made me want to listen to some 90's era Nas. I mean everytime I listened id get 2 or 3 songs in and be like Nas did this exact thing better and throw on Illmatic or something.

New Joey album is nothing like that

Talib Kweli & Styles P EP drop tomorrow too

Man they picked a bad week to drop

They had this release date first lol. Either way we got a lot of good music dropping.

I got a long commute tomorrow morning so this should be good.

Sidebar: Same folk who was making garbage arguments against Lupe in the other thread having a circle jerk prisoner of the moment convention in here lmao!!! Let me guess this is a classic already, right?

Guess you missed the first one in joeys thread huh? Enjoy the album nigga

Why are you obsessed with joeys album? Sounds like you are insecure that Kenny has competition for AOTY

Easy listen, most accessible album he has...

Should be his highest selling imo...

A lot of joints could end up on the radio...

I have always had problems listening to kendrick, Perhaps I just can't catch on but to me dude never really says anything lyrically thought provoking like people make it out to be. His album concepts are grandiose but the pieces to build upon that concept(the songs) never really work to me. For example when I listen to l=Lupe I know the topic he puts forth in the song can be deciphered by the myriad entendres he spits.

Kendrick IMO suffers from the same thing Jcole does. It's supposedly deep but its too straight forward the only thing that benefits Kendrick is he can rap his ass off and that makes it entertaining but as far as deep I just don't see it.

PS: the mixing on this album is terrible.

6/10

First listen and it's very cohesive project. Even with song being sonically different from the last it's still feels like 1 piece. Wasn't feeling Loyalty (sounds like a Travis Scott throw away)

Album sounds like a victory lap IMO. So far it slaps

Album sounds like a mixtape.

Some of these tracks just sound lazy. IMO kendricks worst project so far.

Gonna give it the car test and see if my opinion changes.

Element is my favorite kendrick track EVER though. They did that!!

Car test ....if your opinion on an album changes because of where you are at then..i really dont know ...I mean if you value rich content/lyricism and music that puts clarity and art up front then the albums for you.. but if you prefer fast food that bangs in the whip, with a catchy chorus the album just aint for you..
