I'm glad Kendrick listened to me and took it back to the hood because this album may have saved him from being ignored because the hood wasn't feeling the jazz/spoken word shit. This album is bangin..............

It's crazy to see ppl not liking the production. Pure musicianship going on here. Dudes in the studio with saxophones, trumpets, bass guitars, pianos, guitars, real drums, & Rhodes. I feel like my Jazz loving Dad would appreciate this body of work. Guess it's a style thing.

This is exactly why some people may not like the album.

For some people, there is too much jazz & spoken word in the album. It's missing a couple songs that are straight hood.......'Money Trees' and "swimming Pools' for example.

GKMC >>>> DAMN >>>> TPAB

Yeah, i got a friend that straight up stopped listening to Kendrick after TPAB and didnt even bothered with untitled unmastered, he's a cokehead though so its all good.

I been playing Damn everyday since it came out. I love it.

With that said, I think TPAB is better. Never stopped listening to it.

Hell yeah TPAB is on a different level musically. Its like a updated Jazzmatazz but deeper

Congrats

And keep in mind this had NO hype and no commercial sounding music. This was a conscious album. Now I don't want to hear anything about needing to rap a certain way to sell records.

And I think it's time we start seeing Kendrick as a major force in today's music. Not just for hip-hop but for music as a whole. Not even a month and he platinum what more can he say man what more must he prove ? Kendrick surpassed expectations.

You bugging yes it did

What's wrong with "jazz" and "spoken word" in HipHop music like jazz wasn't a forebearer with the sampling?

Y'all need to chill with the labels...
