Graduation was a solid album...

- Stronger

- Good Morning

- The Good Life

- Champion

- The Glory

- Flashing Lights

- Coming Home

- Big Brother

all good/great songs... Barry Bonds/Drunk and Hot Girls are a "acquired taste" haha... I always find half the people loving those two or hating them... But definitely a good album even the singles were good songs

Solid, but not fucking with CD and LR. I think only Barry Bonds, The Glory, Champion, and Big Brotger can.

Lol @ liking Stronger

hold up... what album were you listening to? lmao

Aright, so I said "Only feeling Devil In New Dress, Rediculous, Don't Stop, and Hell of a Life." Well, I got an advanced copy of the album. "Don't Stop" is a song featuring him, Pharrell, and Lupe Fiasco, and it's REALLY dope. YouTube it. "Rediculous" must be "So Appauled" cuz they keep saying "Fuckin' rediculous."

But this furthers my point. One of the tracks I'm feeling the most on this less-than-16-track album isn't even on the album. 7 good tracks, and 4 are already commercialized on radio. I say download it.

Late Registration had this aura to it, hard to explain .. But I feel the stars alligned for that album. Production was over the top, The roc-a-fella dynasty was comming to and end an here comes Ye with his sophmore effort shittin' on the game in 2004. You was either bumpin' Ye that summer or Mike jones.

But honestly I have all Ye albums except MBDTF Im too broke to buy it, but Kanye always shows growth.

Here's my review. Let's see what brain patterns we're on:

Well, Mr. West has done it, yet again. After that trials and tribulation he endured for the last years - though most of self-inflected - he carved out a brand new Hip-Hop-like sound, with My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Tapping into his creative genius, Yeezy doesn't make beats - he makes MUSIC.

Why - if this WAS a "comeback" album - he never left: Ye is THE most creative artist in Hip-Hop, bar none. He proved that about three albums ago. Actually, I consider him to be only one of five artists who can 'push the envelope' (the other four being Nas, Common, Lupe Fiasco, and Andre 3000). But this wasn't pushing the envelope. My BDTF took all the envelopes, threw them in a box, and punted them across a mall parking lot. With songs like the powerful opener "Dark Fantasy", he still establish that arrogant but musically awesome bravado that's made him one of Hip-Hop most established artists.

The best thing about this album is that he seemingly went out there with the production and the singing, but Ye STILL spits mean. Listen to the 2nd verse on "Blame Game" with the voices alternating. As an emcee, Ye proves to be just as respected on the mic as on the trackboard. He found a balance of both, which is reason #1 why this thing is growing on me.

Reason #2 should be obvious to anyone with an ear for bands. This thing is an arranger's wet dream. Damn near EVERY track could smoke. (Trying to imagine SU or JSU turn up "All of the Lights"..... )

Any flaws?: Ya know, I've listened to this thing on repeat for the last three days. I can't really find one. Maybe the singing was overdone, but I think it's permissible for this album, as it kind of tells a tale in this Dark Fantasy of Ye's.

My scores:

Lyricism - 8.75/10

Production - 10/10 (if I could give it an "11", I would've)

Album Cohesiveness - 9.25/10

Replay Value - 9.5/10

Overall - 9.5/10

Final Synopsis: Call him arrogant, confused, and an attention whore all you want, but call Kanye West a modern-day musical genius while you're at it. This thing is DOPE, straight up and down. And I mean dope in the most abstract of ways. The album as a whole challenges the listener to step outside of the box that Hip-Hop carved into these days and listen to a totally different sound filled with some serious thought provoaking stuff on here. The only question left is to determine where this falls on his discography. Better than 808? Absolutely. Better than Graduation? Unquestionably. Better than College Drop-Out? Most hip-hop fans at the end of the day will say "yes". Better than Late Registration? Hmmm....that will be the debate.

Honestly, if neither this or Distant Relatives doesn't win "Album of the Year", the Grammys need to NEVER have a Hip-Hop category ever again.

Personal Favorites: Dark Fantasy, Runaway, Blame Game (Chris Rock is a NUT)

Rolling Stone's Best singles of 2010

40. Kanye West

"Power"

The first sign of how crazy Twisted Fantasy would be: 'Ye goes all schizoid while sampling King Crimson.

10. Kanye West feat. Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj and Bon Iver

"Monster"

On this rumbling id-fest, Minaj delivers the cameo of the year, switching personae and voices like she's rap's Meryl Streep. Kanye has the good sense to let her go on for 31 thrilling bars.

1. Kanye West feat. Pusha T

"Runaway"

It takes a special kind of dark, twisted genius to raise the white flag of surrender while raising a middle finger. Kanye West is that genius. "Runaway" is Kanye's musical response to the Taylor Swift affair, but it's much more than that: a nine-minute meditation on romantic failure and public infamy. Kanye creates a huge, eerie beat out of thunderous drums and plinking piano, and he turns the phrase "Let's have a toast for the douchebags" into a refrain nearly as catchy as "She loves you — yeah, yeah, yeah." In 2010, no other song was so crazily epic or jaw-droppingly gorgeous — not on the radio, not anywhere. Now, everyone raise your glasses.

Rolling Stone's Best Albums of 2010

1. Kanye West

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam

With My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Kanye West made music as sprawlingly messy as his life. When he wasn't feuding with Matt Lauer or bugging out on Twitter, Kanye was building hip-hop epics, songs full of the kind of grandiose gestures that only the foolish attempt and only the wildly talented pull off. The more he piled on — string sections, Elton John piano solos, vocoder freakouts, Bon Iver cameos, King Crimson and Rick James samples — the better the music got. Never has Kanye rhymed so hilariously ("Have you ever had sex with a pharaoh?/I put the pussy in a sarcophagus") or been so insightful about his relationship-torpedoing faults. From the bracing prog-rock of "Power" to the spooky grandeur of "Runaway" to the shape-shifting "Hell of a Life," he made all other music seem dimmer and duller. Is the album dark? Sure. Twisted? Of course. But above all, it's beautiful.
