rapmastermind;1594644 said:I don't think Ye needed a major hit for this album cause the news he created for himself this past year gave people enough awareness that his album is coming. The Taylor Swift incident and George Bush controversy along with G.O.O.D. Friday's is enough for people to know the album is dropping. I think KanYe singles did pretty well for this album considering the 1st single came out 6 months before the album dropped. But when you look at KanYe's history, some of his best singles didn't even do that well on the Hot 100:
College Dropout:
Slow Jams - #1
Through the Wire -#15
All Falls Down - #7
Jesus Walks - #11
The New Workout Plan - Did Not Chart
Technically, "Slow Jams" was Twista song that featured KanYe. Though it was featured on "College Dropout" it was the biggest hit from the album followed by "All Falls Down". "Jesus Walks" nor "Through the Wire" were top 10 singles. Overall this album was KanYe's best on the Hot 100.
Late Registration
Diamonds From Serra Leone - #43
Gold Digger - #1
Heard Em Say - #26
Touch The Sky - #42
Drive Slow - Did Not chart
"Gold Digger" was the only real Big hit from "LR", yet the album sold very well
Graduation
Can't Tell Me Nothing - #41
Stronger - #1
The Good Life - #7
Flashing Lights - #29
Home Coming - #69
On this album only "Strong" and "Good Life" did well, every other single didn't do that great on the Hot 100.
808's and Heartbreaks
Love Lockdown - #2
Heartless - #3
Amazing - #81
Paranoid - #119
This album had 2 hit singles, but it was the 1st KanYe album to not have any #1 singles on Hot 100.
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Power - #22
Monster - #18
Runaway #12
This album has had 3 singles Chart in side the Top 25 of the Hot 100 which is the best since his Debut album though there are no #1.
KanYe's most successful Features are:
Slow Jams - #1
We are Haiti - #2
Swagga Like Us - #5
Forever - #8
American Boy - #9
So when you analyze his career numbers, KanYe singles don't do very well on the Charts. Many songs that a lot of us Hip Hop fans call Classics flopped on the Hot 100. So I wouldn't read to much into how the singles are doing on this album. KanYe sells no matter how his singles do. SMH @ "Can't Tell Me Nothing" and "Diamonds" Two certified Classic Rap tracks flopping on the Hot 100.

$pyda;1651355 said:Why are you telling me to calm down? I'm not angry nor mad, but you need to stop all that talk. You sound like a hater. I dont see any legit reason as to why people wont be talking about this album in a year, you say that ish as if its a fact. So I say, kill that noise.

opiie562;1653643 said:just some thoughts...
1.) i wish he had the bear on the album cover like the other ones
2.) why 13 songs only? Plus one is an interlude & the other is some protest type shit
3.) i appreciate the fact he comes out with GOOD Fridays and drops tracks, but fuck he let out half the album Monster, Runaway, So Appalled (which i heard his verse & beat like a year ago already), Devil in a New Dress, Power (okay thats the first single).
4.) is it me or does the final mixing of the album sound not so great?
5.) TOO MANY featured artists...
and i'm a huge Yeezy fan. album is good tho ain't hating, like i said, those are some thoughts.
