ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Kyle Orton has been claimed on waivers by a team ahead of the Bears.

The Chiefs are the prime suspect, but that's still just speculation. Orton hinted through back-channels earlier on Wednesday that he wouldn't report if claimed by Kansas City, so a messy situation could be about to unfold. The Bears will now officially have to attempt to make the playoffs on the back of Caleb Hanie.
