Kinda looking to be true cuz Currensy doesn't get that much love either in the South. Niggas love Boosie and Webbie have like 3x the popularity Spitta does and 1/16th of his skill.

hate to say it, but it is true to an extent. J Cole couldn't rely solely on southern audience alone, so he had to branch out to other regions. KRIT is just having a hard time crossing over, despite his hustle game being on the level of any popular rapper.

You are a lame for this comment and you must not be from the south. The Scarface's, the Outkast's, the T.I.'s, Luda's, UGK's, all get major play and have all been supported heavily at some time to get there careers where they are. Quit acting like your internet based opinion is gold. People will support Krit when he makes a major push. Like I said the South was on the back burner for way too long. You never heard other regions with anything to say because our music was regional for years, but time it starts to take over radio you got a lot to say. Krit has to understand we are not letting him take us back to some underground kings era. We have already had that. He can stay a underground king but the whole south does not have to follow or support that backwards move. By the way, UGK the true underground kings got major play from city to city in the streets in the south. Krit isn't getting that.

How quickly people forget J. Cole's story. He and Krit are in very similar positions.

The difference between Big K.R.I.T and Ron Paul is that Ron Paul has the establishment media BLACKBALLING the shit outta him. KRIT doesn't get play because people are not embracing his shit in the club and until three weeks ago, he was not signed to a Major... pretty black and white situation...

On the Political side... Ron Paul actually Won IOWA and MAINE (real evidence, look it up), and there is STRONG evidence that he really won Nevada as well... The mainstream media is doing everything they can to stop Paul- the voter fraud is plain as day... thank you electronic voting machines and incompetent GOP... The GOP wants Romney to win so bad, which is stupid because he will get blasted by Obama in the general election...

They will never let Paul win the nomination, but he IS actually the FRONT RUNNER amongst A LOT of people- Republicans, Libertarians, Democrats leaning right, and Independents... All I'm saying is that his internet movement is FOR REAL and people in real life are backing him, it's just the establishment is purposely blocking him out on TV...

For those who do not read more than two sentences, TLDR version: DO NOT SLEEP ON RON PAUL OR BIG KRIT!!!

Great post.

Damn that shit suck.... before Drake was big here (or anywhere) he used to get play just off his mixtape... that shit is necessary. It's like that Jay line, "First I snatched the streets, then I snatched the charts"... Even "blog" rappers like Wale needed some sort of regional buzz to get on

well toronto didn't really have successful rappers before drake, right?

lol well yeah... but people need play in their base before they get play outside of it right?

absolutely

I would think a rapper who is talented lyrically and can make great beats, and can still sound distinctively southern would be huge down south...

...And although Country Shit (Remix) was moderately successful, I think he would need a few club hits, I know KRIT got it him.

i heard one nigga at the car wash out bumping the chopped and screwed version of Return of 4eva. that's about it And DC niggas love to blast all southern shit.

3 mixtapes in and not one single that has caught on. Stalley going to have the same issues

Stalley might have less of a problem cuz of MMG link up. See his verses on Party Heart with Ross and 2 Chainz and that song with Meek, Ross, and Pharrell. Plus Self Made 2 is coming soon

He's going to be featured on more stuff b/c his camp is more active but solo wise he's going to have the same problems. I don't see him beign able to drop radio singles like Wale, and he isn't street like Meek.

i think he might try and go for a more street edge in his music, you already can start hearing it. But your right, i doubt he'll get big radio play. but you never know

Thanks man. As an Obama supporter in '08, it hurts me to see him constantly doing establishment stuff like renewing the Patriot Act and signing the new NDAA... I really thought he might be about something, but he hasn't been about US the people at all... Not much different from Bush so far...

Im suprised that he doesn't get play down there. imo, his musoc actually bumps more than the artist that ya say do get play down there. I live in upstate NY, and he's pretty much non-existent up here unfortunately (same wit Kendrick). I always try to tell people about Krit and they always say "wtf is that?". smh. Hopefully him tourin wit J. Cole will get him more fans.
