this is a myth actually, it is propoganda that was created by the dictator siad barre (the one who got overthrown at the beginning of the civil war). he'd do shit like bomb parts of somalia and blame it on ethiopia so as to distract from the shit he was doing like showing major favouritism to his tribe and stuff.

i love ethiopia, i lived there before, used to speak amhari, in many ways i consider myself as much an ethiopian. ethnically, we're pretty much identical also. a lot of what is now ethiopia was somalia for a long time too (you know how colonization redraws maps)
