those are two classic albums but what Jimmy Jam and Terry produced 3 classic Janet Jackson albums on the same level with bobby brown and toni braxton

Nah, jj and tl are legends. But me personally, i fuck with toni's and bobby's albums more. Then once u mention the work he did on the tlc albums and the soul food soundtrack etc, i definitely gotta roll with babyface. Not to mention his own projects.

Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis as they had so many classics and they shifted the direction of 80s and 90s R&B without question.

Chord Breakdown for Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis:

Chord Breakdown for Babyface:

Both used 7th chords consistently and really comes down to listener preference.

I'mma roll with Face because ..

Not only is he a writer, producer and arranger he sings too

Plus the range of musicians/artistes he's worked with overshadow Jam & Lewis

I'm more in awe of Flyte Tyme's work with Janet than any other shit they've done and the fact they were percussionists for Prince in the early 80s ..

That Waiting To Exhale soundtrack where Face writes and produces for the biggest female soul/RnB singers in the game at that time was GOAT .. One of my all time favourite CDs

And 'Whip Appeal' >>>

I grew up listening to that nigga's music all the time hence my bias.

My female siblings and cousins I lived with loved that nigga's music ..

But I got mad respect for Jam & Lewis though more especially for how they made Janet Jackson a superstar

Ji,,y Jam and Terry Lewis also did a better of job of transitioning into the new R&B climate in the 2000's. They laced usher with some amazing tracks.

babyface fell off the scene in the 2000's.

seduction

can u help me

twork it out

truth hurts

simple things

thats what its made for

does that make my post more or less accurate tho?

word to the Tony Rich Project.

gon head and hit that ether.

He wrote for Tony Rich?? I remember thinking that nigga was Babyface for the longest time smh. I like both but I have really grown quite fond of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis recently. Their production from the 80's would sound fresh now! I don't know if you can totally say that about Babyface. JJ and TL have a bunch of unappreciated classics too. I listen to that first Charrelle album faithfully and the work they did with the S.O.S Band.
