50 Cent and G-Unit had a bigger budget thus a bigger impact.

But imo Dipset >>> G-Unit

Hell yea.

Gettin it from the mud > Buildin in free agency.

So much organic dope shit came from dipset, Hell rell's freestyles, Jimmy's monologues, Heatmakerz lacin everything.

Dipset was hella innovative, and had young nigga swag. They was new money, all my lil homies loved em. I was always on some OG shit so I ain't really fuck wit it too tough, but you couldn't deny their impact.

I think Cam'ron is better at rapping than 50 but 50 (or his ghostwriter) was making hits. I seem to remember that 50 Cent had 5 songs in the top 10 when The Massacre and Documentary were out.

It makes you wonder how can somebody pen so many hits when they're on a major and as soon as they go independent you never hear from them again.

And its not just 50, Cam and Juelz had a couple of hits when they were on The Roc but when they went indie the hits dried up.

It makes you wonder if they were backed by ghostwriters to help them make the hits.

Jim and Cam just need to scrap it out and dap it up after that. Nobody died from their beef. That shit is repairable.

Man the Hip Hop/Rap audience isn't the same. Shit from 2003 to 2004 the whole feel of music changed. IMO not for the better.

This is usually true with street shit but family shit is much deeper, people close to you fuck you over the most. Betrayal is hard as fuck to just get over or look past.

Well how did he go from 5 songs in the top 10 to zero songs in the top 10?

I can't say for sure that 50 had ghostwriters, but he had been around for a while before GRODT with no hits. He was with Jam Master Jay. Then when he signed with Interscope he had huge hits and huge success, then when he broke ties with Eminem and Dre the hits came to a screeching halt.

I could see that he had a smaller budget but his songwriting ability should remain the same.

Ditto for Cam.

Makes you wonder who really wrote all those hits?

Edit. I think major labels force their artists to use ghostwriters. And it works and makes sense.

It's the machine... They get the music to the appropriate outlets.. The marketing.. The rollout.. When you're indie it doesn't feel as big.. That extra sauce is what gets the masses to gravitate toward you, your music, and your movement..

It isn't the only way to be successful.. But if you want to get to Drake status.. You need that machine..
