So Jordan's game deteriorates and averages 19 points a game. Sure, he's puttin' up more points than Eric Snow, but does that make his drop-off less significant? I don't see how nas saying jim jones is irrelevant makes what he has to say any less true. In 08, no one was checkin' for Nas.

this maybe true for the bandwagon stanning dipset movement but i was never a part of that

Well Nas only has one universally undeniable universal classic with Illmatic

He hasn't made a good Album since Stillmatic which came out in 2001

I wouldn't say Nas is irrelevant but his catalouge overall is poor

God's Son > Recovery, Relapse.

Yet that one classic is more than what Eminem has.

Nas has way way way more value then Jim Jones... but he not seen in the same light today.....

But best know... Nas has those child support checks on his ass... so we will be seeing a Nas album real soon...... And I'm sure that Album will get him right back in the top spot....

Ye if u say so Nas wasn't relevant but Still murdered Lil Wayne on a track while MTV ranked him as the #1 Rapper Alive. People at Vibe Magazine voted him as the Best Rapper Alive. Even Birdman said that Lil Wayne is better than Biggie & Tupac BUT STILL NAS MURDERED LIL WAYNE on that track

Sad but true...we won't see Nas making an another album until 2011-2012 because RAPPERS LIKE NAS MAKES MORE MONEY AT TOURS THAN HIS ALBUM SALES

Eminem has 3 universally accepted undeniable classics with THe Slim Shady LP, The Marshall Mathers LP & The Eminem Show

Based on universal thought by the public, industry critics, sales, impact and the Album's being so great Musically i mean The Marshall Mathers LP is considered one of the greatest Album's ever made by the public

I think Recovery will go down as a classic too by general consensus

So Nas has one classic Eminem has 3-4

Only Album Eminem made didn't say was good was Encore while Nas made many Album's people consider bad like Nastradamus, Streets Disciple & Hip-Hop Is Dead

Two years ago it was true. Stop acting like it wasn't. Nas saved his career with Distant Relatives

Hip Hop is Dead and Untitled(****** whatever the fuck) were Nas's attempt to drum up attention with controversy instead of good music. This album, he stfu, and just put out his best music in over a decade.

Stop hatin' blindly, Jones had every right to say that in 08.

Both albums were solid, made their point and had purpose and substance. Hip Hop is Dead forced the debate and some folks to step the game up.

Untitled was a very good album, one of the albums of the year and considering the subject matter, props to Nas for that.

Commercially, both albums still made it to No. 1 despite its strong substance and nonmainstream content. Not bad for an irrelevant legend.

Not to mention Nas just dropped another classic- Distant Relatives. For Nas, this shit is more than Music now. Respect. Dude is finally clear and less conflicted on his purpose as an artist. That's why he'll be relevant even when Jim Jones goes back to selling bootleg Nas CDs on 125th st.

We can go track for track if you want to argue the Marshall Mathers LP .

Distant Relatives will be considered a classic before Recovery ..

It Was Written = Classic
In spite of being critically maligned upon its release, the album's standing has improved considerably over time, leading to it being viewed as one of Nas's best albums, while remaining to be his best-selling release to date.[19] By 2001, It Was Written had sold more than 2.13 million copies.[19] Leo Stanley of Allmusic later praised Nas's lyricism and ghetto-themed vignettes, along with the album's detailed production.[4] For Stylus Magazine's On Second Thought publication, critic Brett Berliner re-examined the album, discussing its initial impact, and cited it as "one of the first hip-hop albums to straddle the critical and commercial divide successfully."[11] While comparing It Was Written to Illmatic, Berliner stated "It’s a seriously good album with a bit of filler, worth of almost all of the praise Illmatic got. This is Nas’ second classic, and should be considered one of the best albums of all time."[11] About.com later ranked "If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)" number 24 on its list of 50 Great Hip Hop Songs,[40] while it also named the song the fourth best R&B/Rap Collaboration.[43]

While later reviews of the album saw It Was Written in a different light than previous reviews had, the subject matter was still seen as a major flaw of the album. Music critics perceived Nas' violent, fantastical mafioso stories as lacking the emotion and truthfulness of his debut album. Writer Joe Katz wrote in a review of the album for Sputnikmusic, stating "The lyrics were there, but some of the emotion was gone. Maybe it was the world around Nas changing, or maybe it was changing in himself, but no one can listen to this after Illmatic and not see a change ... If Illmatic was the kind of nightmare you can't wake up from and don't really want too, then IWW is a regular dream, not quite "real" but enjoyable all the same."[14] While Illmatic is often held as Nas's magnum opus, It Was Written was not only perceived by critics as part of a sophomore jinx, but was also the first of Nas's subsequent work to be heavily judged and compared to the former.[1] However, It Was Written has been noted as his commercial breakthrough by critics, as it boosted the rapper's image in the mainstream and helped attract a much larger fan-base.[1]

I fell in love with ‘It Was Written’ when I was seventeen, eighteen-a very impressionable time-so I was like I love that album. That’s my favorite Hip Hop album, so it’s like why not base your album on ‘It Was Written’?[50]

StillMATIC= CLASSIC

The album received a classic 5 mic rating from The Source magazine. Vibe Magazine, Rap Stations said it was Nas best album.
This made Nas one of only a few artists to have two 5 mic albums. It was also on the 2005 list of Rolling Stone's top 100 albums and ranked 20th on Chris Rock's Top 25 Hip-Hop Albums of all time.[18]

I haven't seen a Nas album yet that wasn't compared to Illmatic.
