Jesse Williams' powerful BET awards speech

What is a good black owned business that make good affordable and quality shirts that doesnt have a retarded name or plaster their ugly logo everywhere

The speech was just pandering and preaching to the choir. However, like some have already noted, dude does a lot of good with his actions. That's what we should be promoting and applauding.

lol at the nigs in here that dont know about Jesse Williams

it aint all talk...dude is about that activist life.

no lie, in the BET awards thread niggas was like "yeah nice speech but whats next? im tired of all this talk but no action"

this was AFTER they aired a 3-5 minute video about his activist work. this was AFTER the presenter announced he was this years recipient of the humanitarian award

but niggas was STILL saying "yeah nice speech but whats the plan? is he gonna follow through with all that talk?"

yall so quick so scoff at a dude who's actually putting work in. it makes me wonder what you niggas are doing for your people that makes you so unimpressed with Jesse's efforts

so how do yall support people like dude......

only wait to clap your hands when he speaks....

im curious

You find his social media handles and donate time and money.

Or you copy what he's doing and apply it to the area you're living.

Change your way of thinking and start understanding the system.

You educated your kids at a young age, relatives.

Again, you donate if you want to support him, but I don't understand why you just don't do your own thing,

There are others that are like him. Everyone just wants you to do YOUR part more so than support them.

"Everybody getting money, but using it to spend it on brands when we use to be branded ourselves"

That alone should make you change the way you're thinking when spending your dollar

Good speech, but somebody school me on who he is

He's the guy from Greys Anatomy with the dreamy, mesmerizing eyes.

You think of yourself as a white woman with blond hair and blue eyes?

@gameoffeminists I see you have an affinity for being negative, either that or you have an idiosyncratic way of getting a point across. Fwiw there are several quality owned black businesses that don't fit your myopic expectations.

Man this is sad. Other than the part about brands, the main target of his speech actually was not US. Tbis was NOT a 'Yo we gotta do better'

But somehow this has turned into a 'Well, what are YOU doing' thread.

Imagine you are an oppressor, and you are reading this thread. You're ECSTATIC right now!

"Whew, off the hook, they're pointing the finger at each other"

Man stop. If you not part of the solution you part of the problem

This speech is paet of a solution. If you not with it, you part of the problem. Simple as hell

Maybe you just take my posts the wrong way. Ive posted this same comment numerous times in supported black owned business threads and its been ignored every time. Its better to ask if theres a lurker that want to support but dont know where to start. So what are these business?

Say breh, How bout you do some research, or better yet, if you don't like the brands and ugly logos, how about you and others pool your money/resources together to come up/create something for YOU and OTHERS that don't like what is out in the market.

Or back somebody who is in the fashion world (that's black) and express some of your ideas to them instead of sitting around with an excuse about why you don't do this or that.

Dude on here sells his shirts "LEGIT" how many have you bought?

Researching for things never hurt nobody

So you currently have no such business that fit my criteria?

I mentioned there's finger pointing in here , you said "A call to arms is not finger pointing ", i countered that singular point. Simple.

my whole thing is that anything that gets people wanting to get involved is a step in the right direction...

bickering about the shit helps no one......get involved first, and save the bickering for another time
