Physical stamina was my ish back in the day even more so than come clean and come clean was really good. After bumping both albums tho i though overall better production

Tough one. Could go either way.

"Relentless lyrics the only dope I slang". "I know some emcees wanna bring it but a female is one of their strongest".

Jeru was dope, but he and his brand of rap couldn't sustain in rap's commercializing and changing climate. No coincidence Clearchannel's/ Viacom's powermove of buying up radiostations coincides with rappers like Jeru falling off/ being pushed to the underground. I don't wanna take this off the subject though.

Yeah, WotM could be considered "better"

But it never matched the impact TSRitE had

imo, that is

I remember The Sun Rises In The East came out a lil after Doggystyle. But both albums were out within a few months of each other. I was living in Boston at the time and I was into Jeru. Me and my friends couldn't stand Snoop, Dre or Death Row. Then again, none of us had cars.

Yo I never knew what that rift with the Fugees was about.....

The Fugees had a line that went, "No Matter Who You Damage/You Still A False Prophet". I think the song was "How Many Mics" but I'm not 100% sure. But if you do a google search you could find out which song. Apparently Jeru thought that line was about him.

Thats a fair point and you probably 100 percent correct on your bog picture assessment, but i was speaking from an aspect of my own personal opinion of both albums without fan impact being a factor

Sun Rises In The East - it's one of defining albums that brought hip-hop back to New York

Yeah, Doggystyle was the big West Coast album that sold 4X plat I think

But the East had;

The Sun Rises In The East

Enter The Wu: 36 Chambers

Midnight Marauders

Illmatic

Hard to Earn

^^^^Those 5 albums combined probably didn't sell what Snoop sold but that's what I was listening to at the time.

That's what's up. Same here. That's what I was bumping at the time as well. No hate on the west. But that was commercial rap to me. Same when Big blew and everyone in NY was screaming we back. Back then I was like WTF? All this great music and so called Hip Hop fans are worried about NY artists getting spins. Same shit going on today. The fans infatuation with Radio, awards and media attention is not Hip Hop.
