Puff was a background dancer for Father MC and couple of other acts.

What u gotta respect is how he started in his humble beginnings in the industry, observed EVERYTHING from that vantage point, took all the knowledge he gained, hustled and used it to his advantage.

Same for JD, but Jermaine's dad (Michael Mauldin) had a lot to do w/ his success.

My cousin's ex used to go to Howard University while Puff was there. He said that he and Puffy were in the same social circle. One day Puffy came around the crew and told everybody that he was going to drop out of college and be a back up dancer in New York. His friends looked at him surprised and said, "are you sure you want to give up college to be a backup dancer? Seems kinda risky." But he was determined and dropped out.

Now my cousin's ex stayed in school and has a good paying job, but he doesn't make anywhere near what Puffy makes.
