cause "CASH MONEY RECORDS" isn't lil wayne

Ok, so BG and Juvenile have more influence than Lil Wayne? You must be smoking on that good shit, I don't know if you know this, but Lil Wayne is by far the most popular rapper in the game right now, like him or not. Every new rapper copies him a lil, how can you say he's not influential?

do u kno what influential means?

Do YOU know what it means? It means to "influence"

How can you say one of the most popular rappers is not influential? How can you say Lil Wayne doesn't influence society? You have 12 year old white girls in Montana who have never even seen a black person, but Lil wayne is their favorite rapper.

Lil Wayne is the biggest trend setting person in music right now. Do I really have to explain this? Basically, all the new rappers coming up are listening to Lil Wayne, taking parts of his style.

You can't say Cash Money Records was influential without recognizing the current mold of Cash Money, which is just, if not more, popular than they were back in the late 90s/early 00s

Hip Hop is still alive and well so we got to look at it like this, Wayne fathered all these niggas thats rappin today from his Da drought/da drought is over series, got everybody using crazy outlandish punchlines and shit before Wayne had that year of 2007 niggas wasn't really using punchlines outside the east coast like that, now all these new rappers got Wayne dna all in em. So of course he really should be top 5 if not top 10 influential southern rappers, if not top 5 or10 influential rappers period, he influenced any nigga that dropped after 2007. Pre 2007 wasn't nobody down here rappin with them crazy punchlines and weird voices except Wayne, Dro, 2 Chainz, and Gucci, I always wanted them niggas to collaborate.

And I seen somebody sayin somethin bout 2 chainz got his style from Wayne, I kinda see what you sayin with that, or how niggas who just gettin on his music could say it, but at the same time he been rappin like that for years too, using his voice to his advantage, crazy lyrics and shit he just don got alot wilder with it, that spend it shit just gettin him noticed nationwide.

For example, the term "Bling Bling" was originated by Lil wayne, and now it's in Webster's dictionary

False. The term "bling bling" originated in Jamaica

if u mean 2 influenced sum1 too get money or sum shit then yea he's influential. if u mean to inspire dudes to go in the studio n sound like him i dont really respect that but fine. but on the artistic side to name him top 5 of all time is disrepectful..

The list isn't about the greatest southern rappers, it's just about the most influential. Although mass popularity and influence don't necessarily mean the same thing, it pretty impossible to be at Wayne status and still not be influential in many aspects.

Never said that Pimp C is accurate but im not saying he is all the way wrong either. But when people try to include Va, MO, and Kentucky as the south are sadly misinformed...well Kentucky and Arkansas are in the grey area.

nigga kentucky is the south.
