Back in the 40's 50's & Some of the 60's It was quite regular for labels & White Artist to use take borrow & steal any music property from Black Artist Mostly with no payment. (See The Movie Cadillac Records For Examples) But that was then this is now. We have New Laws more notoriety for Artist. And the Grand Daddy of them all......The Internet.

Not really...that's a bad comparison actually....you think putting out music in the 50's is the same as it is now? Bottom line, if that famous flow of Young Chris was/is so great, Chris would have blown up with it...regardless if Jay had the same flow or not, how many rappers have made hit songs/careers out of doing the same shit another rapper does...like Jay put a ban on any other rapper using that flow

I don't understand why people have this perception Jay E ain't working. Just Blaze and Young Guru have said he is finishing up his album.

As for Jay E, his following is a little different than J Cole. J Cole had to release those mixtapes because nobody knew him, Jay E is one of those mysterious artist that has a cult following basically off of one song (Exhibit C). He is way ahead of J Cole at where they started, even though it would be nice if Jay E would put out a mixtape to set up his album.

I think you are missing the point son, crutch may have been a bad word imo. I would say Kanye and J Cole are much more self contained artist, essentially they can sustain success beyond affiliation with Jay-z. Kanye has carved out his own niche in the rap game, he is essentially Jay-z peer now not his little buddy or sidekick.

I don't think he knew Cole was gonna blow up, but i think he learned from Rocafella earlier failures. As for benefit, how does it really benefit him when he is a bigger artist than J Cole.

He worked with Kanye way before Diamonds are forever on the BP2 (The Bounce) before anyone knew who Kanye was.
