Niggas want say a nigga can't have six classic just because. That's stupid. If a niggas has an album of ultra quality then yes it might be a classic. Nigga can make 10-15 albums and 6 be classics. You have artist like Nas, Common, Ghostface, MF Doom who have 4 classics or better. Its not impossible. But does Jay-Z have 6.....this is the same guy who told you he sold crack so you didn't have to go through that and thought he had 3 classic before completing the Blueprint. Hell no he don't have 6.

DOOM is my guy but idk bout him having 4 classics. I give him 2 tho & a possible with Operation Doomsday so maybe 3.

Operation Doomsday, Mad Villain, Vaudeville Villain, The Mouse and the Mask. and MM Food was close.

4:44

Too soon to call 4:44 a classic.

What's the exact start date till you can officially call something a classic??? I think 4:44 is one of those instant classics but if not when does the time begin were you can start calling it one and keep in mind I will be bringing up examples of albums called classic earlier to see how consistent niggaz are

Niggas still sleeping on Volume 2. That shit made JayZs career. Blueprint made him a legend. Black Album put him in the discussion of GOAT.

I honestly think Vol 2 is a classic but I just have a hard time saying a rapper has 5 classics but it definitely has a better case for the title than a lot of albums ppl call classic

Vol. 2 is slept on and is a very good album. Vol. 2 definitely made Jay-z and he ran with it commercially. His catalog is up there among the greats.

To me he's got 3

RD

BP

Vol. 2

Black album was a near classic, woulda been flawless if it wasn't for that bullshit ass Justify My Thug ugh smh. Quik shoulda gave him a Heartz of Men type beat like he did for Pac. I like 9th Wonder's version way better.

American Gangster - eh, you could make a case for it but I feel like because KC wasn't well received, people jumped on it quick cuz it was return to what we used to hearing from Hov. Kinda like when Wayne was making shitty ass auto-tune music in '08 right after C3 and Lollipop then he came back hard wit No Ceilings.

Vol 1. had too many fillers on it, that silly ass Sunshine, City is Mine, I Know What Girls Like smh foh Jay lol.

But Where I'm From, A Million and 1 Questions, Streetz is watching were dope to name a few.

He reaching wit WTT and 4:44. The latter just came out, it's too early to tell

quick timeout to celebrate another plat thread for your boy

since this might be my last one on the IC

Nah. Even Jay felt that wasn't his best work. There were some jems on that album though. Had he made it an EP with these songs:

Intro: A Million and One Questions/Rhyme No More

Imaginary Player

Streets Is Watching

Friend or Foe '98

Lucky Me

Who You Wit II

Face Off (Ft. Sauce Money)

Real Niggaz (Ft. Too $hort)

Where I'm From

You Must Love Me Lyrics

Wishing on a Star (Ft. Gwen Dickey)

The others shouldn't have made the album.

You didn't like rap game/crack game?

Oh shit, I forgot to put it on there. My bad.

*Joe Budden voice* Let me help you out here. If you can still play the album in heavy rotation 6 months after, it's on the right track. The next album comes out and you're still bumping it tells you it stood the test of time.

This coming from the man who thought IWW was meh.

I don't recall saying IWW was meh, but if I did so be it. IWW has some bangers. Shit also got like 14 tracks and 5-6 are skippable depending on my mood.
