And this is coming from a dude that was born in Brooklyn and lived through his Reasonable Doubt/Vol. 1 hype. Jay-Z is a now a pop artist just like Lil' Wayne. Niggas didn't push MCHG to platinum, it was white people. Jay-Z knows very well the musical sounds that are popular to the current black youth, he has the world's top producers at his disposal yet he chose the type of beats that most niggas aren't even gonna give more than a 10 second listen to before deciding they're wack. Part of Jay-Z's legend are the legendary soul beats that Kanye and NoID and to a lesser degree Timbaland used to make for him. What does it matter that he's dropping this or that famous black person in a song if black people aren't listening to it? How is that educational? Does he think that white people wanna hear about information that they've been suppressing for centuries?
The fact of the matter is that if Jay-Z really were doing things for the black community then he would have run into resistance from the system again by now, because that's how the system works. Notice how he was catching drama left and right when he was younger, but he's good now, yet niggas like Nas Prodigy DMX Ja Rule Nelly etc and now 50 cent(another coon) still catch cases every once in a while for random shit. Same with Diddy. Jay-Z and Beyonce are 2 people who clearly think that they are above the race of people that birthed them. They dip back into black shit when they want a bump in sales or attention, but by and large the don't do a single noticeably significant thing for the black community as a whole. Jay-Z is one of the few black artists on this globe that could actually start a black owned black run entertainment distribution company(the same thing that MJ was murdered for trying to do) but I've never even seen him speak on that idea because he knows how dangerous that idea would be to his white overlords. I do wanna believe that Jay-Z cares about black people, I really do. But he was cocky as fuck and arrogant back in the day before he reached this point in his career, I can only imagine what level of "my shit don't stink"ness he's at by now
Sorry for the titangraph

You're getting your assumptions and feelings confused as being a fact. You could be right, but really, we don't know what he does behind closed doors. And as far as him catching cases, there's more than one way to look at things. For one, his content was at it's worst when he was catching all of those cases in the 90's, and now that he's been speaking out against Bush, black on black violence and other social injustices in his music, he's actually staying out of less trouble, so that goes against the "They try to censor the message" theory. Also, do your research about him being watched by the FBI, and a fed case that didn't stick. Did you ever think that maybe dude has grown and is smarter about the way he moves now, since he's in his forties, a father, a husband, businessman that other people depend on to eat. I wouldn't expect him to be as reckless at this age. His image affects his other deals, and he employs a lot of people, Im sure he can't afford to be burning bridges because it'll affect how him and his team eat. Is it really hard to fathom that he could be making smarter moves than his peers. Stuff still comes out about him that tries to assassinate his character like his love child, Dehaven videos, the stuff that Foxy allegedly said. Look at someone like Denzel, he's not media darling in Hollywood, and gives back to his community, distances himself from Hollywood, yet he still has the money and accolades, with no one trying to assassinate his character...you never hear nothing about him in his whole 28 year career.

That is a false statistic and a racist assumption that 95% of his talk is about is basically European Culture
take a randomly selected song from his album the bolded is not about european culture let me know when referencing Ali is european or government cheese lol
Just let me be great, let me be great
I feel like mothafuckin' Cassius Clay right now, Genius!
Don't be good my nigga, be great
After that government cheese, we eating steak
After the projects, now we on estates
I'm from the bottom, I know you can relate
[Hook]
Fuck up the world
Let's fuck up this world
Fuck up the world
Me and destiny got a date
[Verse 1]
Martin had a dream, Hov got a team
My chain already heavy, don't let me get a ring
Parades down Flatbush, Confetti on my fur
Turn right in Red Hook, niggas heavy on the curb
See most my niggas died early twenties or late teens
I'm just trying to come from under the thumb of this regime
1% of a billion more than niggas even seen
Still they wanna act like it's an everyday thing, clean
[Hook]
[Verse 2]
High Yellow sky dweller and the rose gold
Legend of the summer in the Rose Bowl
Came through Pasadena in the low low
Just to show respect to the cholos
Feelin' like a stranger in my own land
Got me feeling like Brody in Homeland
I just want a shot to show my genius
Standing on the top hold my penis
America tried to emasculate the greats
Murder Malcolm, gave Cassius the shakes
Wait, tell them rumble young man rumble
Try to dim your lights tell you be humble
You know I'm gon shine like a trillion watts
You know a nigga trill as Michael Jackson socks
Sendin' light out to Compton and the hundred blocks
Lil bastard boy, basking on top
[Hook]
[Verse 3]
Sipping D'USSE boy this ain't your daddy yak
He in a Cadillac; me? I'm in the Maybach
This ain't grey sweat suits and white tube socks
This is black leather pants and a pair of Stance
Socks is my synopsis is clear
Got stripclubs feeling like Oxford, I swear
Teacher teacher, I'm trying to unteach ya
All the shit they taught y'all, they got you all in the bleachers
When you front row at the Knicks game, those the Spike Lees
You front row every where, you in the H.O.V's
Jordan 1's and dungarees
And that's just the half of my warpath
Make a million another million let my niggas make a million
'til we all check a billion, shit it's just the way I'm feeling
We have yet to see a ceiling, we just top what we top
Cause the bars don't struggle and the struggle don't stop
roughly les than 5% of that song is actually about european culture
You got one song where Jay mentions black people and he mentions black plight but what is he really saying tho it's like he brings up the fact that black people have struggled just to make his ascension more impressive I break glass ceilings, I'm at the Rose bowl, I do this and have that.
And in this same song you posted he still manages to talk down to black people "This ain't ain't your daddy yak he in a Cadillac me? I'm in the Maybach"
Dissing Cadillac, a company that is well know for attracting black consumers and hiring black workers, for Maybach a German company with ties to Nazis.
And I know every other rapper has talked about Maybachs and Mercedes, and I do hold Jay to a higher standard he is the biggest rapper out. He has so much influence and power he can name an off brand company nobody has ever heard of and their numbers will blow up and everyone will be talking about that company and buying whatever it is they sell all off the strength that Jay-Z mentioned it in a song.
Now couldn't he used that power and influence to uplift black people, kick some knowledge to the youth, talk about real issues, instead of talking down to black folks while at the same time showing so much love to Europe.
You still haven't proved how your statement that 95% of his album is euro centric. And your assumption that he is talking down the black people is wrong because there are other black people that have driven and owned maybach's. Likewise assuming that he is just talking to black caddilac owners is racist and sterotypical because in the 1950's many white people bought caddilac's upon moving up in the working world.
Likewise Buick's and Caddilacs are seen as luxury top notch vehicles in many parts of China and Eastern Asia. Maybe he was talking to them as well. Most german companies and cities have ties to Nazi's so should nobody even go to Germany anymore because of that lol. At the end of the day you are making incorrect statements that you have no proof of backing up.
I didn't say 95% of this album I was saying in general and yea 95% might be a bit of an exaggeration but my point is he has a clear affinity for European culture and the majority of his subject matter at least after "American Gangster" has been white. And his sound most certainly is
Come on man you gon act like there is no historic connection to Black people and Cadillacs and cognac?
How is talking about white people and European Culture 95% of the time being diverse?

There's a clear difference between making smart moves and living comfortably, and being worth close to a billion together with your wife. You and I know that the majority of blacks living in America will never ever come close to being that wealthy. The white middle class and the black middle class are 2 completely different classes, even though you're made to believe that they aren't. You act like I'm making a stupid argument, but has there been a single true civil rights leader throughout history that has not been assassinated/murdered/jailed/had their character assassinated. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and everyone like them are again just pawns, used to disperse any kind of energy that builds up within the black community. We are all slaves to the "higher ups" through student loan car note credit card and mortgage they debt that they trick you into placing onto yourself.
I don't understand how niggas can be so oblivious to the shit around them. Blacks don't own any more wealth than they did right after slavery ended. Not a single black person owns any of the resources coming out of Africa. The CIA pumped drugs into black communities to help break up the civil rights movement then threw millions of black men in jail for stupid shit. The prison industrial complex is a for profit system. Hip hop is being taken by whites and remolded to maximize corporate profits just like rock and roll blues jazz funk and disco were. Most black artists and athletes are broke again 5 years after they stop making money in their profession. Apparently every single one of these people were just stupid and didn't know how to make smart moves. There was never anything more sinister happening.
I don't think I've ever heard Jay-Z speak on any of that

"How you a man waitin' for the next man to get rich?
Yo' plan is to stick out yo' hand real quick" - Nas
You are a dummy. For real. Investing in one's community is now a handout? You mean Jay-Z couldn't do something SMART like try and corner a business that black people utilize often? Like weave? Designer shoes? Or maybe a black construction company that would simultaneously employ black workers and clean up and rebuild black communities thus raising property values? Is it a handout when an asian person opens a convenience store in a black neighborhood? When successful white men build hospitals(not free clinics) in their own communities are those handouts?
I'm the crab in a barrel because I think that successful black people should be putting money back into their communities in some way?
Ok
Man stfu w/ that dumb shit. Nobody ever said investing in your own community was an issue. If you knew shit about me on here you would know my stance on such topics. However, expecting a muffugguh to do anything is pure backwards ass nigguh bullshit. The last time I sat around waiting for a nigguh to do anything for me was when my mama changed my last diaper. You're sitting around waiting for somebody to lead you and show you the way instead of getting out and doing for self. No shit we as African Americans have always had a serious problem w/ investing in ourselves & our communities, building the right businesses in our neighborhoods, education, policing our own neighborhoods, building generational wealth....blah blah etc etc. But, I'm not going to sit here and tell another grown ass man what to do w/ what he's earned. I'm not going to try and guilt trip or belittle the next man for not doing what "I think" he should do in the black community. That man should want to do it because it's in his heart, not because nigguhs pressuring him to part w/ what he built and earned himself. Our problems are a lot more complicated than what Jay-Z and Beyoncé do w/ their money. I get what you saying, but tuck your emotions youngster.
