Jay Electronica has shown some promising talent but he needs to craft an album or two...he has great potential...

No offense to Jay Elec, New Orleans 4 lyfe, but i gotta go with Lupe. he has more energy, less monotone, doesn't go over my head as much, & nerdy subject matter i.e. some lines in Gold Watch appeal to me more. Lupe is just my personal favorite rapper since 2005, drop that album Jay & make it a tie

Man I came into the thread wanting to give Jay the nod.....until I played some of Lupe's tracks, I forgot how beastly dude is with words he could easily be in contention for top 10 of all time I think

Well this isnt a fair poll...jay hasnt even had the chance to drop an album yet

I will say that Lupe, while a great artist...has no replay value at all to me, lupe is boring as fuck

Jay has presence, as well as hot lines that arent so deeply integrated that you have to outsource them to understand some bars in a song

I can listen to a jay elect song over and over without forcing myself to do so...its not the same with lupe

But hey to each his own...ill wait to see if jay can put a complete album together before i say whos the better artist.
