Congrats to J elc but at 35, (yes J elec turned 35 in september), he needs to get on the ball asap. I believe in his music but i'm not sure about how he'll crossover and at the end of the day Jay will be expecting him to crossover. J cole is having a hard time crossing over as we speak so it'll be interesting to see how this all pans out.

yea, i give props to jayz for signing elect....even though i know he trying compete with kanye lineup and i bet kanye inspired jayz to start signing more lyrical dudes, because that willow smith signing was arkward, jayz done passed up on mosdef, pusha t, and countless others but jayz lineup is looking real good right now....

Being under Jay-Z isn't necessarily the best thing for an artist like Electronica.....but I wish him well.

It's not about whether or not he's the "right fit" for Roc Nation.

If you notice, Jay-Z (lol I can't even just say Jay now) sorta learned from his and Dames mistakes with Rocafella. Everybody in Rocafella had the same subject matter and was basically cut from the same cloth. This time around he seems to be picking up people who are already talented and have a buzz in their own rite and just let them keep doing what made them popular in the first place.

That was his problem with the original team...nobody was self-contained except for Kanye. Everybody needed his help to be relevant..and as you can see now that they don't have it, they've disappeared. Jay clearly doesn't have time for that being an artist himself, so he changed his model.
