Their path in life is guided by the studies of scientology. It's interesting how they think, which gives a slight window to how their parents think. After Earth was filled with scientology references. The part where they talk about the mind being the enemy is the same thing as Will playing the father in AE as a man who has learned to control his emotions, locking his mind to drive to a unique purpose.

Those kids are concerned with something a bit deeper. It will be interesting to watch how their ideas manifest as they continue their growth.
