LOL Im 23

And lol @ the bolded. If u say so.

no wonder. u really have no frame of reference. u were watching barney, playing with ninja turtle dolls and shit when that whole beef was going on so i get why u dont really understand why commons diss was so scathing. like i said tho....ure very much so in the minority with ur opinion. the wordplay and accuracy of the personals in that shit was ill. what was even iller at the time was that cube and them was talking all that rah-rah gangsta shit but it was common who really had the plug to yoke them niggas up. true story.

In the same way Tupac and Biggie are forever linked, Jay and NaS are attached at the hip in Hip Hop History. They are the heir's to Tupac and Biggie's Legacy. Like the other two, they are the Ying/Yang of each other.

biggie-tupac.jpg

#1 and #2 (Who's 1st or 2nd is Personal Preference)

jaynas.jpg

#3 and #4 (Who's ahead of who is personal perference)

But they are Top 4 All Time Easily.

Tupac: Born in Harlem (Grew up in Harlem, BK, B-more and Cali)
Biggie: Born in Brooklyn (Grew up in BK)
Jay Z: Born in Brooklyn (Grew up in BK)
NaS: Born in Brooklyn (Grew up in Q-Boro)

The Best Disses from the Battles:

#1. Hit Em Up
#2. Who Shot Ya
#3. Long Kiss Goodnight
#4. Against All Odds

#1. Ether
#2. Takeover
#3. H to the OMO
#4. Supa Ugly

I think the two things that Nas did that tipped the scale in his favor were:

1) He made Jay Z seem like he was a stan (Jay sampled Nas twice and mentioned his name and/or albums on record). There's also the story of Jay wanting Nas on a song. Not only did he make it seem like Jay was a Nas stan, but a Jaz-O stan as well by pointing out the similarities between Jaz-O and Jay Z's stage names and how far of a stretch Jay Z is from Shawn Carter. There's also Jay Z spittin' Biggie's lines.

2) The "Queens niggas run you niggas ask Russel Simmons" line. Def Jam is the house that Russel built which the ROC was an imprint under. That kind of smashed the whole idea of a "takeover". Then there's Nas basically saying he's sonning them.

Exactly!!!!!!! He showed the world how much Jay-Z was on his dick and how much he recycled Biggies rhymes

"and the little homey Jungle is a garden to me" lol but anyway im a bigger Jay fan but i gotta go with Ether, simply because he had a whole song to go at Jay. Jay had a verse put up against a whole song of course he was going to lose. Ether just hit harder and it seem like Takeover was more directed towards Mobb Deep but that still doesn't take away from Ether being better. imo Blueprint² is better than Takeover

Blueprint 2 was better as far as him putting Nas shit out there. If he put that out there first instead of Takeover then the Jay Z fans would have a better argument for him winning the battle. Either way like many have said you can't change history and Jay gotta take that loss and stop trying to rewrite the past

this shit takes me back to that beef dvd, where Krs 1 is discussing the ether vs takeover, and he said something to the extent that

making fun of ur opponent, is all good, and will get u cheers, but, in the long run the truth hurts.....

and i felt like krs was cosigning takeover as being better than ether with that comment......

Cause what jayz was saying about nas at that time in 2001, is exacly what the general hip hop poulation, was feeling at the time.....and that was

that nas had fell off.......

it took jayz one verse to almost end nas career at that time, while it took nas an entire song dedicated to jayz to even
put a dent in that nigga hov armor.........

think about it.......

Takeover was a more punishing track than Ether.......

the impact of Takeover could of ended nas career if he didnt at least say something

how ever the impact of Ether wasn't powerful enough to Stop JayZ career..........

threads like this truly reveal the Jigga Warriors and seperate them from the fans, I know Jay fans that rarely fuck with Nas but have to give it to Ether as being the vicious devastating diss that it was and that takeover was ehh just another jay track, but then you have these Jay Hova's Witnesses that act like it is blasphemy to admit that Nas ate that Dudes heart with Ether...
