If it weren't for Chris Brown, Big Sean would be in the exact same position as J. Cole right now but with less critical acclaim

I'm not a Big Sean fan, but you can't undermind his success by saying he's only popular cuz of Chris Brown. Shit, Cole had a song with Drake whos even more relevant than C. Brown. And that nigga Cole couldn't capitalize on that buzz. I fucks with Cole, but there is no excuse for him having a single with one of the most popular rappers in the game, and still not blown up.

the singing has to stopor get autotune, or a singer

sounds offkey

the rappin is on point, especially the second verse

single material? not sure, just sounds like a average "reflective" song, no real concept

the best line i the entire song was a pac line

7.5/10

Agreed, "Work Out" could also have used a vocalist

J.Cole was put in a position to drop his album this summer. He even stated that the "Summer is Mine". J.Cole singles flopped. Big Sean had a hit song with "My Last" which created alot of buzz for him. J.Cole got pushed back, Big Sean album didn't and will now probably have the album of the summer.

What singles?

Who Dat dropped last year, and it didn't flop, it just had moderate success

In The Morning was a mixtape track, and essentially it's a remix, being that the original came out like 2-3 years before the FNL version

I'm not even sure if Work Out dropped yet, if it did, it's way too early to tell if it flopped or not
